What terrifies them in a measure such as the Irish Language Act, is not so much the promotion of the Irish language as such as the real possibility of the use of the language on public property ie street signs, names of state organisations, etc.

What northern loyalists want is to continue to live in a British state. This goes considerably beyond the question of identity, something that is guaranteed under the Good Friday Agreement.
