I’m pushing for a Great Northern Oyster Card with @GoodGrowthFdn and for a Youth Triple Lock, too.
Cheaper public transport. Better opportunities. A fair start for every young person.
Time to transform the North and give the next generation the hope they deserve.
1/ Something very important is being missed in the Peter Murrell coverage. And it explains why Murrell was able to carry on the embezzlement long after he should have been stopped. And why John Swinney cannot hide behind the “victim of criminality” defence.🧵
It's hard to convey to those of you in England, Wales, N.I., and internationally just how bored, sick and weary many of us Scots feel about independence being discussed over and over again. The SNP and Greens have been talking about it for 15 years now. 1/2
The Scottish Parliament has spoken. A significant majority of MSPs has voted to affirm the right of people in Scotland to decide their constitutional future.
This is democracy and it must be respected. Scotland’s future must be in Scotland’s hands. 🏴
Reform-led Durham council cut off funding to the annual Pride celebrations.
So trade unions launched a fundraiser to save it, eventually raising more money than was cut.
Which means this year's Pride will be bigger than ever.
In the 1980s, the LGBT+ community raised thousands of pounds to help striking miners and their families.
When we stick up for each other, we can achieve anything.
Not content with copying Trump's policies, Reform are now copying Trump's phrases. No-one in the UK talks about 'locker rooms'. We call them changing rooms.
To the men who voted Reform earlier this month: is this really the future you want for your daughter/niece/female friends?
Update: A Reform UK spokesman says Kenyon's comments about women driving were "locker room banter made more than a decade ago"
"We simply don't care about establishment hit jobs. We fully back Rob and are confident he will be an excellent MP for Makerfield"
BREAKING: Former SNP chief executive, Peter Murrell, has been remanded into custody after pleading guilty to embezzling £400,310.65 from the party.

Inflation “unexpectedly” fell by 0.5% to 2.8%
Growth was an “unexpected” 0.7% - the highest in the G7
Net immigration “unexpectedly” fell by 82%
NHS “unexpectedly” met it’s interim 18 week target
Our media have so deceived the public that all positive news is now “unexpected”
I agree, Deborah. It's almost as if the MSM/ring-wing press want us to be miserable and angry. And they certainly don't want us to recognise when we're onto a good thing.
Some good news you might have missed this week:
Net migration at a 13-year low. UK the fastest-growing G7 economy. NHS waiting lists down half a million. Borrowing at a three-year low. Fuel duty cut extended. Inflation back to 2.8%.
The country is moving in the right direction.
None of this happened by accident.
Strong growth figures show that this government has the right economic plan. And now, the IMF has upgraded the UK’s growth forecast.
This growth is driven by an activist, interventionist government that believes in backing British business.
…meanwhile in the real world…
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has upgraded its forecast for the UK's growth this year from 0.8% to 1%.
Labour…delivering with @Keir_Starmer
https://t.co/e5F96BDzdg
EXCL: Keir Starmer told ministers tonight that Wes can't win because it would "destroy our party and country".
He invited all ministers into his study in the Commons.
Ministers of state in one batch, followed by parliamentary under secretarties.
One tells me the response was overwhelmingly positive re backing Starmer.
"He was there doing the hard yards. There was something in his eyes I haven't seen before. And I liked it."
The media go on about the “unpopularity “ of Keir Starmer
They fail to admit this is because the same media have relentlessly attacked him with fake news & failed to cover the Government’s achievements
