Congratulations to Professors Darity and Hamilton (just featured in TIME Magazine) whose innovative policy ideas to close the wealth gap are gaining momentum!
Professor Sandy Darity has been working closely with colleague Darrick Hamilton on the idea of baby bonds. Last year, Connecticut became the first state to implement a baby bond initiative.

Nov. 15 at @UofDenver@josefkorbel: Join me for snacks and a presentation about my study of 18- to 29-year-old men living in high-crime, heavily policed neighborhoods.
Check out this article from The Marshall Project and USA Today about Denver's FAST program aimed at solving more non-fatal shooting cases. My colleagues & I will soon begin evaluating DPD's program. It also mentions my Durham, NC study. https://t.co/oEVluRqW7y via @usatoday
It's an honor to share the voices of young, Black men from Durham, NC and elevate their policing policy aims, based on two-hour interviews. Thank you, Cook Center for publishing this policy report. @scrivner_inst@josefkorbel@PolisAtDuke@DukeSanford@WilsonCSJ_

@DukeSocialEQ @scrivner_inst@josefkorbel Thank you, Cook Center, for publishing this report. I appreciate you for bringing the voices of these young Black men to light.
@Jermain96309072 Yes! Meeting you and learning about your work was such a rich experience, Jermaine. So glad to be in community through our presentations.
@kelly_zvobgo I assign them to permanent teams after the first 2 weeks, so they do in-class exercises together and take team quizzes (after individual quizzes). By the time they get to the team memo, they've already established norms. I give a mid-term eval & team retreat, & end-of-term eval.
@kelly_zvobgo It's tough when ppl don't know what they don't know. I tell them I'm not aware of anything important that gets done by one person. I then say if they ever want to make an impact it will be done on a team. Last, I'll teach them to lead and be the one everyone wants on their team.
