Async Backing gives parachains a massive performance boost without sacrificing security.

Two main points👇

• Parachains produce blocks twice as fast! Every 6 seconds instead of 12.

• Faster execution from 0.5s to 2s, which equals 4x bigger blocks.

That means an 8x increase of throughput & even 10x when combined with proof-of-validity reclaim (filling unused block space).

Benefits for Devs 👩‍💻

They can focus on building more complex parachains/apps, that will scale easily even when the network grows. With Elastic Scaling coming this year, devs can allocate resources based on demand.

Benefits for Users 📲

→ A more responsive and seamless UX.

As blocks are validated more quickly, they benefit from lower latency and faster transaction confirmations, which is especially important for gaming chains like @mythicalgames, and DeFi protocols.
