#WatchNow | What is Climate Disinformation?
EP 1 of our #LogOffTheLies Information Integrity animation series breaks down what #ClimateDisinformation is, how false, misleading, & manipulated narratives are designed to confuse the public, delay #ClimateAction & protect polluters.
That’s a wrap on the #AfrikaVuka Week
From north to south, our message was loud & clear: Africa needs energy affordability now!Fossil fuels keep us broke & in the dark. It’s time to power up affordable, clean renewables for all. ☀️✊🏾
#energyaffordability
One week. Widespread actions across the globe. Thousands of voices.
The Kick Polluters Out Global Week of Action showed what movement solidarity looks like when we build across borders.
This is a step towards collective power.
#KickPollutersOut will keep building.
Communities in the EACOP corridor are crying out.
We stand with Greenfaith Uganda to call out the climate injustice and demand an end to new fossil fuel projects in Africa.
#Faiths4Climate#KickTotalOutOfAfrica#CNOOCMustGo
This is what awareness looks like when it becomes uncomfortable & necessary. When companies like @TotalEnergies & @Glencore are selling themselves as engines of progress, we need to ask the questions: progress for who & at what cost?
#KickPollutersOut#AfrikaVuka#ResistGlencore
From West to East and Southern Africa, Total arrives with promises and leaves disaster and social injustice. GreenFaith Africa stands with the Niger Delta, Cabo Delgado, and every community that was sacrificed for oil. Africa needs a fossil fuel-free future, built by us, for us.
The extractive industry promised jobs & development.
What communities got instead: land loss, intimidation, rising inequality, & environmental destruction. People are rising for decentralized renewable energy that puts communities before corporate greed.
#GlobalWeekOfAction
"They promised 2 restore our livelihoods.”
But communities are still waiting while TotalEnergies keeps pushing destruction, displacement, & broken promises through #EACOP.
People want their land, dignity, & future back. @TotalEnergies: Stop the harm.
#StopEACOP#KickPollutersOut
This morning, climate defenders and affected communities held a powerful 48-minute protest at the @TotalEnergiesUG headquarters against @EACOP_ the suffering of and evictions esp. in Kapapi MUST stop. We were dispersed only after police vehicles arrived, threatening arrests.
We have watched the reports come in from the EACOP corridor. First, the water sources are polluted, the children get sick, then the silence settles in, and the company shrugs. That is the predictable cost of putting crude oil above communities. #KickTotalOutOfAfrica#StopEACOP
