@ChuksLDN@propagandopolis Is it de Gaulle, Chiang, and Stalin vs FDR and Churchill, or maybe Churchill and Roosevelt have already beaten the other three and it's their final, or maybe it's a tag-team with Churchill+Chiang vs FDR+de Gaulle while Stalin is the ref, or maybe it's your free for all rumble...
Hallo @fraeulein_keti. Meine Freundin sucht eine Authorin für einen Oxford Bibliographies Beitrag zum thema Deutsch-Französischer Krieg. Habe mich an Sie erinnert. Interessieren Sie sich? Falls ja, bitte DM an mich.
(Es tut mir leid, wenn es Fehler gibt, ich lerne noch.)
@Merach_ @dwebsterhist Also, sorry for the late reply. I wasn't deliberately ignoring you, it's just that all the academic content on Twitter is very painful so I avoid using the site.
@Merach_ @dwebsterhist @Kyle_Ireton Thank you for your advice. I don't have access to library resources and in any case there isn't really an industry related to my subject—or, at least, one that wants me. I am still very grateful that you reached out and I promise to look into it.
Hi @janeyellene, can you recommend some 19th century-focused accounts to follow? 17th century Twitter seems really active, I want to believe 19th century is the same!
@dwebsterhist I've just finished my PhD and it has already put me right back to the mental pit I was in during lockdown. I've given up on ever making a career. Can't even get a platform, any platform, to say 'yeah those are interesting thoughts based on solid research, we'll publish them'.
@danbanik Finally got it back, just six (pushing) seven months since submission. It demands complete re-structure, new research, new argument, and in an often very dismissive tone. How does anyone not give up?
@danbanik Thank you, done! If you want to do me and baby researchers everywhere a favour, please ask your senior colleagues to prioritise peer reviewing articles for early careers. 😅
First article of baby academic submitted in Feb, got reviews at the end of Jul in which the best they can say is 'this is half a contribution'. Guess it's time to give up academia?
@FarCanals I could semi-forgive the 'sex appeal' comment as a poor way of putting that even urban professional had serious economic issues and had bigger things to worry about than looking smart ...were it not for the rest?? The only thing I recognise is the litter 😅
@buhle_matsha @Illustrious_Cee Please allow me to draw Your Excellency's attention to my newly founded locally-owned CSO whose charter is copy-pasted off your Embassy's website. We stand ready to take your money then use older, better connected CSOs to implement your projects
