Copytrading is not the best strategy in prediction markets.

I see posts like this almost every day:
"If you just copied this trader’s trades, you’d make a lot of money"

Here are some reasons why this doesn't work:

1. Prediction markets often have low liquidity. A large trader’s buy immediately signals value to the market and moves the price.

By the time you copy the trade, your entry price is almost always worse.

On top of that, you’re rarely the only copy trader. You end up competing with other bots and traders for the same fills.

2. Exiting the position is difficult for the same reason. Low liquidity means worse execution on the way out as well.

3. You don't know the trader's strategy. They might be hedging, reducing risk, or setting up a multi-leg position, while you blindly copy a single leg.

In my opinion, a much better strategy is to set alerts for smart traders' trades, and then independently analyze the market and make decisions.

The advantages of this approach:

> You use the trade as a signal, not as an instruction
> You control the entry and exit prices
> You avoid crowds and PvP with bots
> You actually learn how the market works, instead of just copying trades
