@kjw6612 Hi Jiwon! I'm a student at Brigham Young University, and my lab and I have been applying your discoGAN framework to hopefully develop new antibiotics. We are putting together a paper for a conference, and were wondering if we could reproduce one of your figures? - Brian
Even if you feel you have nothing left to give, you can still give the benefit of the doubt . . . a smile. . . a hug. You can always offer a plea to God (however you may imagine him to be) in behalf of those around you. We are never separated from that which matters most--love.
As far as I can tell, no two things are ever in the same place. That is what makes them separate things. When two things appear to be in the same place, they are really occupying different coordinates. It is just that you can't see the dimension that separates them.
The best definition of a dimension I have ever considered:
A dimension adds an infinite number of set points to every previously existing set point in any other existing dimensions.
I recently heard my friend, a political science major, remark that certain of his acquaintances are smart, educated, and especially kind people. But they seem to leave all that behind in politics. It would be really interesting to study willful ignorance in educated societies.
Does the placebo effect occur in animals? Humans have thought processes and emotions so complex that they can literally change our health. At what point does intelligence start influencing cellular functions? Does this occur in animals? How about plants or fungi in some way?
Why isn't there a high incidence of cancer in plants? They spend all day being blasted by high energy rays from the sun. If I did that, I'd have melanoma. But a tree just grows.
There must be some region of viral genomes that is unique to viruses. What if you could insert a CRISPER-Cas9 gene into your genome that targeted this unique region of viral genomes? Perhaps some day, a variation on this idea could be used to eradicate, or at least treat viruses.
