What does paramedicine beyond 2020 look like?
@FatamboGary talks to us about the Queensland Ambulance Services High Acuity Response Unit (HARU) and what makes it successful 👉https://t.co/l0pOQqKCoH #SMACC2019#CodaPodcast
What do these two have in common? @FatamboGary highlights that both have a similar blood volume. Be very aware of that. Small amount of blood can be a lot for a paed. Bring soaked dressings to hospital for weighing. #PARAPEM20
Dr @alaanibrahim (#PEM Director of Training) opened #PARAPEM20 this morning and is now finishing off by explaining paediatric rash recognition. Teaching #paramedics about skin rash classifications; what is a dangerous rash?
Dr Dan Bodnar reminds us, “cool the burn, warm the patient”.
Large study showed cooling burn for over 20 mins under cold water reduces:
- rates of skin grafts,
- thickness of burn,
- hospital admissions and
- operating room interventions.
