@theRealZenz I had this convo w a coworker at an hourly job about taking overtime pay. I *could* not convince her that she wouldn't end up losing money if she ended up being pushed into next tax bracket.
Look who I ran into on the Cap Sq. So graciously, but also enthusiastic about winning in Wisconsin. Thanks @BradleyWhitford for always coming back to your hometown to help.
Thanks to Robbie Webber @PorchChat, another heroic Wisconsin volunteer who is making sure @KamalaHarris @GovTimWalz @SenatorBaldwin and Democrats up and down the ticket bring it home this November. All gas. No brakes. WE’RE GONNA WIN WISCONSIN!!!!!
@MichaelGarrenMD@MadisonWIClerk@CityofMadison It was a statewide problem. The WisVote system that allows election officials to look people up in the registration database didn't have enough computing power. They added more servers last night.
@funfrannie@MadisonWIClerk Unfortunately, the I Voted stickers were victims of the automated ballot mailing process. Machines can't put them in the envelopes.
@Morales4MKE GOP in other states have used false claims of non-citizens voting as a pretext to pass "down me your papers" voting laws. I'd rather not trust them.
@Morales4MKE I'm voting NO, because next the GOP will try to make everyone PROVE they are citizens. You're going out to register to vote today. Quick - Where's your birth certificate?
Many people may not have papers on hand, & it costs time & $$ to get proof.
@YakPatriotic@FrancescaHongWI 2/2 Who doesn't have paperwork to prove they are citizens? Ppl wo passports. Ppl born at home so wo official birth certif Ppl who move a lot & may have lost their papers. Ppl from chaotic or violent homes, who maybe can't get their papers. Voting is a RIGHT. Don't make it harder
@YakPatriotic@FrancescaHongWI The obvious answer to why to vote NO is that the MAGA folks are ginning up conspiracies abt non-citizens voting. Next step is making ppl PROVE citizenship to vote. Many people cannot easily show legal proof: birth certif, passport, etc. 1/2
@Brandon_Hasz01@FrancescaHongWI I've worked the polls for yrs, have processed 100s of abs ballots, so know the answ. You should try working at the polls to learn more.
You go to the poll book with the envelope & give the voter's name, just like in-person. Only one ballot is allowed per person.
Hey, Madison Bicycle, these docks are really unreliable. Apparently there are no bikes in this location.
And when I return a bike here, I have to take a photo to prove I docked it.
@AlexanderShur When I was trained to be an election official we heard of a guy walked out in front of a cop car, insisted the cop cite him for jaywalking, and then used that as proof of residence. It is an official document.
