“With these and other petty moves executed by Pete Hegseth, Trump's loyalist secretary of ‘war,’ the White House and Pentagon appear strangely determined to undermine, and even erase the evidence of Black patriotism.”

A historic moment: Thank you to Senator @TimGraysonCA for issuing an official California State Resolution recognizing Port Chicago Remembrance Day across the 9th Senate District!
We’re grateful for Sen. Grayson’s longstanding support of the Port Chicago Sailors and their legacy.
One year ago today, the #PortChicago50 were exonerated—an extraordinary milestone made possible by the unwavering leadership of @RepDeSaulnier. For over a decade, he championed their cause. We honor his dedication and this powerful moment in history.
Today is #NationalPortChicagoRemembranceDay. On July 17, 1944, 320 mostly Black Sailors and civilians were killed in a deadly blast. The aftermath sparked a protest by 50 Sailors and helped push the Navy toward desegregation. We remember their courage and sacrifice.
