🏘️🧵Today @CAgovernor and @California_hcd released their Statewide Housing Plan, a roadmap to solve our housing production and affordability crisis and ensure that every Californian has a roof over their head. Some initial thoughts:
I urge the federal administration to abandon these harmful plans to drill, and I join our Governor, Senate Pro Tem, and my colleagues in committing to protect our coastline.
Drilling on California’s coastline would be as detrimental to our environment and economy as it would be ineffective in addressing the rising costs of oil.
Incredibly important information from our Senate President @MoniqueLimonCA and others on why the Santa Barbara offshore oil play being pursued by the federal administration is dangerous and not helpful on any front.
The legislation referenced in this statement has bipartisan support. California lawmakers often work together, bridging party lines. This bill is a great example.

Great to meet with neighbors in Bay Point on Friday for a Community Coffee! I hope you’ll join me at a future community event soon. I’ll be hosting a townhall with Senator Wahab this Friday in Castro Valley, and a Senior Scam Stopper in Walnut Creek on the 17th
I want to commend PHPD, the US Secret Service, & especially Det Vuong, for their outstanding work on this case. This is a powerful example of how skilled law enforcement, working together, can fight back against sophisticated financial crimes and deliver real justice for victims
Today I presented Senate Concurrent Resolution 120, which designates the first week of March as National Consumer Protection Week, and March 5th as Slam the Scam Day.

For more than three years, Detective Vuong of PHPD worked the case, and at the end of last year, was able to return the victim's stolen life savings to her and her family.
💥Boom! It was an honor to work with @DavidChiu and @TimGraysonCA on AB 2923 in 2018 to facilitate affordable housing development like this on BART parking lots. @NPHANC
SB 1036 @TimGraysonCA was just introduced to provide clarity and uniformity under the Mitigation Fee Act by requiring that jurisdictions provide “credit” for any use previously on a project site if the redevelopment project and the prior use both cause the need for the service or facility funded by the impact fee. @SPUR_Urbanist
EBRPD Fire Dept helps keep parks and communities safe and welcoming. Firefighters, lifeguards, and vegetation management staff work year-round on emergency response, wildfire protection, aquatic safety, public education & rescue services. Fire Dept Survey: https://t.co/WqBFRAbQPO
SB 1014 @TimGraysonCA was just introduced to require jurisdictions to provide a complete list of required off-site and on-site improvements within 30 days of submittal of an application for a housing development project. @SPUR_Urbanist@cayimby
I hope that we can all join together to condemn racism and hate wherever it appears, and I similarly hope that as a country, we can spend the remainder of this Black History Month properly celebrating the achievements and contributions of Black Americans.
Today on the Floor I joined my colleagues in supporting and passing SR 77 (Weber Pierson, Richardson, Smallwood-Cuevas), although I am deeply pained that such a Resolution was necessary. SR 77 was authored in response to a hateful, shameful post that was published on Truth Social
I join my colleagues in formally condemning President Trump’s recent racist post which used racist imagery to depict former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. I join the Senate in calling on President Trump to issue a public apology.
