At2:23 thisMorning, Port Talbot Lifeboat was Requests for an Immediate Launch, to a person in the water just off the north breakwater. The lifeboat was on scene 10 minutes after being paged, and recovered the casualty into the boat, where she was checked and passed to coastguards

Last night at 19:30 we where Launched by UK Coastguards after a MAYDAY call was revived on Channel 16. Along with @TheMumblesRNLI CoastguardTeams and Rescue Helicopter 187 we conducted a large search in the bay with nothing found. We where recovered and ready for service at 2200

Tomorrow we celebrate the 250th birthday of our founder, Sir William Hillary. In 1823 Sir William made an impassioned appeal to the nation, calling for a service dedicated to saving lives at sea. 196 years later our volunteers are busier than ever protecting our coast.
