"The biggest myth about labor unions is that unions are for the workers. Unions are for unions, just as corporations are for corporations and politicians are for politicians."
— Thomas Sowell
“The political left seems to regard economic policy issues as litmus tests for whether you are a good person, rather than as questions of facts about what works and doesn't work.”
— Thomas Sowell
The French Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
It supplied the exact template, tactics, and moral excuses that communist regimes later used to kill over 100 million people in the 20th century.
It proved that a vanguard could seize property in the name of equality, label entire classes and traditions as obstacles to progress, and liquidate them through organized terror. Every major communist slaughter simply scaled up what Paris tested first.
Property confiscation and economic controls set the pattern immediately. The state seized church lands and noble holdings, then issued assignats that produced hyperinflation while price controls triggered shortages and famine. This exact sequence of plunder followed by interventionist collapse repeated in Russia, China, Cambodia, and beyond.
Official terror against designated enemies became legitimate state policy. The Committee of Public Safety and the guillotine converted political disagreement into execution. The Vendée campaign showed how to devastate entire regions and populations that resisted the revolutionary order. Later regimes industrialized the same approach to class enemies and traditional society.
It normalized the nation state as an object of worship. At the intellectual level, Jacobin methods of vanguard rule and enemy liquidation fed directly into Marx and the Bolsheviks, who treated 1789 as the necessary precedent for their own power seizures.
Institutions shifted toward permanent expansion of central authority. Older limits on power gave way to claims of unlimited popular sovereignty exercised through the state. Later democratic and welfare systems built on that foundation, steadily enlarging government reach over property and daily life while weakening restraints that once protected individuals and inherited order.
The cumulative effect across two centuries has been repeated cycles of revolutionary violence, property destruction, and ideological killing framed as progress.
Instead of replacing tyranny with liberty, it refined the justifications and machinery that future ideologues would deploy on a far larger scale.
Stop treating it as a founding moment of freedom. The direct line from the Terror to the gulags and killing fields is the actual record.
Remember Piketty and other left “economists” warning about Javier Milei being elected president?
What @JMilei achieved will go into economics books.
Free market works really fast. Why don’t other countries give it a try instead of following left fairytales making them poorer?
In order to be successful, you have to do five things. There’s a sequence to it.
1. Have (audacious) goals.
2. Identify and don't tolerate problems.
3. Diagnose the problems to get at their root causes.
4. Design a path to fix those things.
5. Push through to results.
This is what I call looping. Go for your goals, identify your problems, get to the root cause, design a path, and push through. Life is basically just doing that over and over again. If you do that, you'll make the advances.

"More than 100 economists"
Has any of these left "economists" ever admitted being so wrong, or do they simply keep spreading their nonsense theories in talk shows on Western left-legacy media?
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth explains how progressives exploited our system and intentionally removed God from our education system to break down the family and create a bigger more controlling government
“They very intentionally, the one thing they knew they had to remove from the beginning was God had to come out of the schools, because God was the immovable object that prevented their utopian schemes.
If you want to change the way they think, rewire the relationship of families, you have to get at the God thing because it disrupts those utopian schemes. And so the early Progressives, Communists, Marxists very intentionally worked hard in creating systems that slowly but surely removed God.
Because if you went into a public school, government school in America in the 1850s or 1870s and 1830s, the Bible's in there, prayer's in there, scripture reading's in there. It's all in there.
So it's a modern court that made all those things unconstitutional based on a misreading of the First Amendment and freedom of religion versus freedom from religion. And the progressives have exploited that”
This same tactic has been used by oppressive leaders throughout history
Vladimir Lenin & Joseph Stalin, Soviet Union (USSR, 1917–1953 peak repression): Implemented state atheism; removed religious education, prayer, and Bibles from schools; replaced with Marxist indoctrination and “scientific atheism.”
Mao Zedong, China (People’s Republic of China, especially Cultural Revolution 1966–1976): Attacked “old customs” including religion and Confucianism; closed temples, persecuted believers, and used schools for Maoist indoctrination.
Enver Hoxha, Albania (1967–1991): Declared Albania the world’s first fully atheist state; banned all religious practice, closed mosques/churches, and integrated state atheism into education. Religion seen as a threat to totalitarian control.
Pol Pot, Cambodia (Khmer Rouge, 1975–1979): Atheist regime; destroyed Buddhist institutions, killed monks/teachers, and imposed radical communist re-education to erase family/religious structures for a classless society.
Kim Il-sung & successors, North Korea: Juche ideology as a near-religious state cult replaced traditional faiths; severe suppression of Christianity/religion; education centers on loyalty to the leader/family and anti-religious indoctrination.
We’re next if we don’t do something about it
