Our freedom is not free, something we should all reflect on this Memorial Day. Today we remember our service members who gave their lives for that freedom and our Gold Star Families as we pray for those who continue to serve.
Memorial Day and Veterans Day hold two very different meanings. 🇺🇸
Tomorrow, we honor those who lost their lives in service to our nation. In November, we thank the living veterans who served.

Private Bennett Hubert Waters lost his life bravely defending our nation during World War II. After 81 years, he has finally returned home and will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 4. As we reflect on his heroism and sacrifice, I am ordering flags at the Capitol and in Pierce County to be lowered in his memory.
