We are recruiting for our orthopedic manual physical therapy fellowship @OSUWexMed starting this March. If you have an OCS or SCS, and willing to move to Columbus, OH, please send me a DM. @APTAcsm @APTAtweets @AAOMPT@Ohio_PT @OrthopaedicAPTA @aaspt_apta

Started noticing a trend in some clinicians: seeking literature that further affirms the things they already do or want to do.
Shouldn't our focus be toward literature with a goal of improving our efficiency and seeking ways we may not yet practice?
Lets hear the thoughts!
@RoyFilmDPT@ptreviewer It seems a bit out of our scope of practice to be telling patient/clients anything about COVID, other than "you should have a discussion with your physician." It is beyond our expertise. We can only educate on the role of exercise for overall health.
@DPTRoman@Lentini_PT If athletes are able to load they should be loading! Not too much literature out there on using BFR with kids (not "adolescents") this young. With frequent growth spurts, emphasis should be all technique.
Hey ya'll! Newest Episode of the show is out now! We were joined this week by Dr. Zach Mayo. Listen to him talk about where residency training positioned him and hear his thoughts on the role of post-doc training.

The reason I don’t slam manual therapy, TENS, Ultrasound or acupuncture about the research being poor quality is because the research supporting what I do (exercise, load/symptom modification, “pain education) is poor quality too.
Strong opinions can’t be held in this space
Morning thought: Can you accept the intelligence of your body? Why do you translate the sensation you feel into “that” emotion?

If you completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency, then please DM me. I am creating a survey on where Sports Residents end up directly after residency. Hoping that this information can be used to help prospective residents decide if residency is a good option for them. Thanks!
@codyeff@LarnoldDPT@YusraIftikhar@kescaff@AndrewHammondPT Very cool convo guys! I’d tend to agree with both of you, but maybe take it a step further. I think of them as levels: Lvl 1=sympathy, Lvl2= empathy, Lvl 3= compassion. Can’t have the later without the former
🌅 Morning reflection: What is the difference between empathy and compassion?
🔑 Compassion finds your own solid presence and offers up action toward another.
🙅🏻♂️ Empathy often results in internalizing others’ feelings. Good, but not sustainable.

Thanks for having me on! So exciting to hear what my former students are up to now. Excellent work with the podcast. A must subscribe @PostDocPT https://t.co/GKPsemE0CW
@rayyy2164 @derpathesherpa Find an orthopedic specialist physical therapist. Many PTs are highly trained in spinal adjustments, if deemed appropriate! Chiros are great but if you have to go back 1-2x/month for a year, are you actually better?
Breaking news – President Biden has signed APTA-supported legislation extending the moratorium on the -2% Medicare sequestration cuts through December 31, 2021. Thanks to all the APTA member advocates who took action. #PTAdvocacy
