@thelaundrymat Whoop has good marketing, but if you want insight to their business fundamentals, they hired my 22 friend to run their European supply chain expansion a year and a half ago w/o oversight
The Platner-Collins race is pretty Kingian tbh. Phony baloney evil soul-pit machine politician with an evilish relationship history vs. dim witted, emotionally unstable guy who has undeniably done some very bad things but who the audience ultimately sympathizes with
This will be looked back on as such a cringe LARP era of the country.
Renaming it Department of War and then getting your ass handed to you in the single offensive war you launch is hilarious
“Of the 369,000 jobs the Labor Department says were created since the start of Trump's second term, nearly all - 348,000 of them - went to women, with only 21,000 going to men. That's nearly 17 times as many jobs filled by women as by men.”
somerville ma is run by people like this and guys who are single-issue voters for bike lanes and unfortunately it's probably one of the best cities in this country
I’m agnostic, I’ve grounded that in the impossibility of empirically assessing God’s existence. But that takes for granted the necessity or validity of using empiricism to find God. And it cuts the same way for faith. No matter what, you must to make an unjustifiable leap.
Hey I was on a bos to dc with this guy in April. Regarding his point, Kierkegaard speaks to the impossibility of finding sound footing to level arguments in either direction in “either/or”. Any claim you make will inherently assume the validity of its conclusion
Fr. Gregory Pine did the best treatment of this question when he was interviewed by Alex O'Connor.
Alex: "What if someone sincerely searches for God, but no matter what he does, he is simply unconvinced?"
Fr. Pine: "That's impossible and he'd be culpable for living in denial."
How does one work full time; maintain an active social life, including a long distance relationship; study for the LSAT; maintain a consistent workout schedule; keep appraised of current events; and maintain a consistent literary reading schedule. Need advice.

This sort of interaction is useful to explain that ‘Gen Z feminism’ basically does not exist—there is no new feminist theory in dialogue with previous forms, because no one reads or writes more than posts.
They call porn “a zionist degeneracy” because they absorb right wing content that blames The Jews for porn and promiscuity.
At the same time, they claim to love Dworkin (who was a Zionist) because they’ve never read more than excerpts of her that got reposted on instagram or tumblr.
It’s all the same thing: the ideologically incoherent consequence of being fed slop (including human-produced slop) that social media algorithms tune to deliver only that which validates your instincts and emotions.
They call themselves feminists because they’ve internalized that’s a good thing to be, and because they’ve found a way to act out “feminism” that’s also like “hyper femininity” which they deeply want to express. It goes in with a constellation of other markers like coquettish aesthetics, chastity, melancholy, thinness, etc, as proof of their exquisite femininity. Their “feminism” is an exercise in personal branding, in negating Maleness as thoroughly as possible, as marking themselves Female as much as possible. That’s why it’s incoherent, because it’s a feminism fundamentally uninterested in the *liberation of women* but rather in the social position and aesthetic of individual women trying to embody their idealized form of gender roles.
So it’s not really a theory of “feminism” in the sense of analysis and action concerned with the liberation of women from patriarchy. It’s just been reduced to individual aesthetic expression.
Bad analysis.
You should not control for these factors, because they all are downstream of gender on the causal pathway.
Think about Mad Men S1. There was no pay gap between men and women when you controlled for gender - because women were prohibited from high paying positions.
Cannot put into words how glad I am to be in a loving relationship where I can express my interests to another human without fear of being turned into a public punchline.
