@lll06154334348@Scout_Typer0411 Of course I know. I don't think we should hold onto hostilities. We get along fine now, so why bring that back? They bombed us, we bombed them, done deal, it's over. Should Europe hold grudges between themselves? I think it's a bit stupid.
@lll06154334348@Scout_Typer0411 It's been 80 years, we've both let it be buried in the past. The war was brutal for everyone involved, but why should we and Japan still hold a grudge against each other?
@AnnieBot4573 Men cannot be women, but gender dysphoria is a very real mental disorder and I feel terrible for people who actually struggle with it. It's been completely co-opted and now people who actually have it can't find legitimate help.
Previously I have posted about a Nintendo of Europe downloadable premium animated wallpaper that featured a bizarre Toad eating the wallpaper. The files have finally been datamined, allowing the Wallpaper-Eating Toad to be observed in never-before-seen maximum quality.
@salt0140@_elelfe If they're worried about that, they should provide avenues for people to report shitty translations so they can cancel production and pursue legal action.
@Sinj_Soma@rome_s01@OomfOfAnOomf Steam has been so fucking successful in countries that are infamous for piracy. I imagine it'd be even more successful in China if they didn't have such strict publishing laws.
@luckynosu@GifkinsIzak Places with rampant piracy should be high priority because those are existing fan groups and potential customers. They will trip over themselves buying your merch.
@JoshEdits Or, even better, GOG. GOG is an even better example because they completely bar publishers from using DRM or forcing account logins. They give you the keys to seamlessly upload their games without barriers and they're still a successful business.
@crom_BB@MalagorAuramag@Erundel Exactly! Today, many publishers believe piracy is just a service/accessibility issue. Many indie devs will even outright tell you they don't care whether or not you pirate their games because they understand that piracy spreads awareness and grows your audience.
@crom_BB@MalagorAuramag@Erundel It's not necessarily a "high risk" because people have a lot of respect for publishers who grant them full ownership of their games. At that point, why pirate when you can just buy it on GOG and fully own it forever?
@MalagorAuramag@crom_BB@Erundel Operation Rainfall is a big example of it working. It brought Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower to America. However, campaigns like this often don't work and piracy tends to send a stronger message.
@Naniwoyaterunda His words aren't as excuse, they're a solution, and an explanation for why people pirate. If people are pirating your games, it's typically because your games aren't accessible to them. Make them accessible and those pirates suddenly become paying customers.
@crom_BB@MalagorAuramag@Erundel GOG publishers are putting their games on a platform that makes piracy very easy, which tells people they don't really care about piracy and are confident people will just buy their games. I wish indie devs who can't afford translations would just put their games on GOG.
