Many of us can testify that President John Dramani Mahama is putting in a lot of work to reset the country. Unfortunately, some appointees seem more focused on living their best lives than matching the President’s energy and commitment.
When we see some of these things on the internet, it makes many of us sad and even regret the effort we put into campaigning for a better Ghana, wearing party shirts and carrying party flags with hope for real change.
The new generation of Ghanaian voters largely vote based on how they feel in the moment. The NPP government was voted out because many Ghanaians were angry and felt government was no longer listening. If lessons are not learned, history can repeat itself.
The state of the nation is bleeding, yet look at what some people are prioritizing. Ghanaians want results, accountability, and leaders who understand the concerns of ordinary citizens.
It may surprise you what I found today.
Last year, while reporting on this school, I was chased away and threatened by the assemblywoman after exposing how the place became flooded whenever it rained. At the time, the school had no perimeter wall, so anyone could clearly see the situation from outside.
Shortly after my report, walls were put up, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.
Today, I decided to find out for myself. I quietly made my way onto the premises after noticing some of the doors were open.
What I discovered was shocking: the school is still flooded.
Despite all that has happened since the story was first told, the problem remains unresolved
The bar was so low, I don’t even understand how NDC is finding a way to go lower.
The previous government was rejected so badly that NDC won 13 out of 16 regions. Ghanaians did not just vote for change, they sent a warning.
All this government has to do is listen, stay humble, work and deliver but look at how some appointees and institutions are moving.
People are suffering and some of them are acting like power is a reward not a responsibility. Ghanaians want results. Thats all.
🚨ICYMI🇬🇭🏆: The Greater Accra Regional Minister has won “Regional Minister of the Year” while her region was underwater this very week at the Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours.
3,000 streetlights later, the city’s still dark.
That’s not all.
“Best Deputy Minister” went to the Deputy Minister for Transport whose commuters are still stranded at the station(s) & junction(s).
Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours.
Read that title again. Lol.
🦅🇬🇭
The Greater Accra regional and deputy transport ministers getting awards as best regional and best deputy ministers tells us where we’re as a country.
These two women have been incompetent in their fields of work and you award them for what? Such a shame!
You have to be 16 to drive.
You have to be 18 to vote.
You have to be 21 to drink.
You have to be 25 to rent a car.
Why are teachers talking to our kids about sexuality at 12?
Why are kids encouraged to mutilate their bodies at 13?
This gender ideology madness needs to end.
Andoni Iraola on if he plans to speak to the players:
“For me right now, I think it's more than talk to the players. Some of them will be on deserved holidays, some of them will be with their national teams. I want to talk to the staff, to the people that were here every day, that know very well the players, to arrive as ready as possible to that first day of pre-season. I think especially with a lot of those young players that will do the pre-season with us, a lot of things about the organisation, about the staff, about how we can create the best atmosphere, the best environment so when they arrive [on] day one, everyone feels everything is in place and we can do this process of adaptation, that it will take some time as soon as possible.
“We are in this process of building the best staff we can. Now for me, the most important thing is to also know and get into a rhythm with the people that were already here working. Sometimes they don't appear on TV; with all the analysts, the performance guys, all the people that really are in touch with the players every day. I think they are going to be very, very valuable for us. It's true that it's going to be new staff, new people coming in, but I would like also to value a lot the ones that have been here working for the club with these players, that are really the ones that will help us more at the beginning.”
