@Qblurts@RonDeSantis Doxxing a juror is bad. Making a juror into a hero and giving them financial incentives based on their vote is also bad. I’ve also seen some pretty gross treatment of the other jurors by a bunch of commentators. All of it is bad.
I have serious concerns about crowdfunding jurors, but I am especially opposed to crowdfunding a juror based on the position he took in deliberations.
Turning jury service, and specifically a particular vote, into something financially rewarding is abhorrent to me and frankly goes against everything the judiciary is supposed to stand for. I know public confidence in that ideal is already badly strained, but this makes it worse.
The largest of these fundraisers is framed around his role as the holdout, and the total climbed substantially after he went public with his defense of his vote. The moment that money becomes a reward for a particular vote, you create an incentive that has no place in a jury room, and every juror in the next high-profile trial will know it.
Counsel's handling has not helped. In roughly a day he went from calling the existing fundraisers "100% FAKE," to clarifying that unauthorized "does not in any way mean unappreciated," to announcing that he will establish an "authorized, consolidated, and official fundraiser for our Heroic Holdout moving forward."
This is less than two weeks out from a status hearing on whether the Commonwealth retries this case.
As it stands, we essentially have no framework for what happens when strangers send a discharged juror six figures immediately after trial because of the position he is publicly credited with taking. This has never been addressed previously by our laws, because it never had to be. I would argue that this seems like a great time to do so.
@BethanyCherisse Someone identifying obvious signs that SSRIs induced mania. Also being given actual help when she calls a suicide hotline (twice). Providers being curious and actually asking what her “terrible thoughts” were. Better recognition and understanding of perinatal mental illnesses..
@ScottJenningsKY Oh come on….this is the kind of stuff the left does. I don’t agree with anyone attacking him, but his race has nothing to do with it. Also - I’ve seen the right giving plenty of negative attention to the other jurors, is that deserved?
The Lindsay Clancy trial seems to have turned into a prop bet over which politician, talk show host, or other person people take seriously in other contexts can offer the most confidently uninformed opinion without watching the trial or learning the basics of Massachusetts law.
Does no one care about the living victims?
The Musgroves have been through hell. They lost their grandkids they were extremely close with. Their son in law is gone — not that I blame him. And their daughter is in a psychiatric hospital paralyzed. Whether you hate Lindsay or not, it’s not their fault.
Pat Clancy’s father’s business dried up after the killings. His wife’s faith was attacked on the stand when it’s the ONLY thing that probably holds her together. They lost their grandkids too.
And Pat. He lost his 3 kids and his wife. He set up a foundation to help other families going through postpartum psychosis. People on TikTok spread rumours about him. TMZ stalks him when he goes to dinner with his new wife after going through a harrowing trial where he was literally tortured. He fell apart in the hall.
Everything in their lives changed in one night. All those grandparents and Pat want is to try to get beyond this. But they can’t.

@MorganC000 So your theory is that the state decided to go with first degree murder charges and intentionally did a horrible job at prosecuting all as a plot to institutionalize moms? The Patrick Clancy conspiracy theorists somehow seem more logical.
https://t.co/P6O2Z19NWz Congratulations, South Carolina. You've got one here. Calling for public executions before actual findings of guilt seems...unAmerican maybe? As an aside, putting aside Clancy's mental state when she killed her kids, which is still undetermined in a legal sense, you can't publicly execute a woman to "send a message" to other clinically insane women who doesn't know right from wrong and can't control her actions.
@Kay14Ton@crystaljpropes So your theory is that she never meant to die….just thought she would kill her kids and “get away with it” by pretending to commit suicide, which would mean she would very likely end up in a mental institution or life in prison. How does that make sense?
Claims Reddington’s call for a pardon is a “publicity stunt” and “nasty and ugly”….then goes on to call for public execution. This case has fried everyone’s brains.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Nancy Mace is calling for Lindsay Clancy to be publicly executed ... telling TMZ DC's @jacob_wass the Massachusetts mom accused of killing her three children "should be dead too."
@xQwirk I don’t think there really is a side that sees her as a “tragic hero to be loved and cherished”. I think that’s how the other side wants to paint them, but they’re really just conspiracy theorists that don’t think she killed her kids.
