Today, 27th August 2026, the UFBU Nationwide Mass Demonstration was successfully held across all Centres and Towns throughout the country, witnessing tremendous participation, unity and enthusiasm from Bank Employees and Officers.

The demonstration was held at 5:30 PM at Bank of Baroda, Horniman Circle, Mumbai, with enthusiastic participation and a powerful display of solidarity.

The powerful voice of @aiboc_ms1 echoed through the demonstration, giving forceful expression to the collective concerns, aspirations and legitimate demands of the officer fraternity.

905 days since the 9th Joint Note.
997 days since the December 2023 understanding when 5 Day Banking Promise was agreed in written.
Digital payments are 99.7% of transaction volume. Cheques, 2.3% of value. RBI, LIC & GIC already work five days.And Bankers offered 40 extra minutes a weekday for it. Despite everything they failed to keep the promise. A signed commitment is not a suggestion but an obligation.

Read the revised PLI matrix carefully.
In EVERY scenario — even where the Bank scores above 80% and performed magnificently — the bottom bracket receives Rs 0.
Not a reduced award. Zero!
1 in 5 officers, every year, labelled as zero contributor.

India is 100% digital… but bankers are still working on a 1995 timetable.

UPI runs 24×7. ATMs work 365 days.
Digital payments never sleep —
only bankers are expected to.

🔹 90% routine banking is mobile & UPI, yet humans follow a 6-day “legacy protocol.”
🔹 Cash counters dropped by 60–70%, but pressure didn’t get the memo.
🔹 Technology upgraded instantly; human recharge time is still “under review.”
🔹 A 6-day week fuels burnout and fatigue — clearly not the smartest digital upgrade.
🔹 5-Day Banking saves thousands of crores, but rest is still treated as a premium feature.

The irony is that India built a lightning-fast digital economy but forgot to update the humans running it.

The simple truth is bankers are asking for 5-Day Banking not for comfort, but because humans — unlike machines — need a restart.
