"UNDP welcomes the substantial progress made by the Praia Group on Governance Statistics," said Alexandra Wilde, @UNDPGPCG Team Lead for Governance Data and Analytics, at #UN57SC.

"At the same time, the work is not complete. Sustained effort is required to consolidate implementation, support capacity development, and further advance methodological guidance in additional subdomains of governance statistics."

For this reason, @UNDP is committed to continuing its engagement and support to the @PraiaGroup in a third term.

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 was a year of 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩’𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, preparing their presentation and validation at the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (2026).

The Praia Group held a Side Event in Addis Ababa on Governance, Peace and Security, discussing the instruments for the Participation and Non-Discrimination dimensions.

The meeting concluded with a Final Declaration and a request for the renewal of the Group’s mandate for the next five years.

A sessão contou com intervenções do Secretário de Estado Adjunto do Primeiro-Ministro, Dr. Lourenço Lopes, da Representante Residente Interina das Nações Unidas, Dra. Anna Chyzhkova, e do Presidente do INE, Dr. João de Pina Cardoso.

O 𝐆𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐚 reafirma-se como referência técnica global, promovendo dados comparáveis e de qualidade para fortalecer a democracia e os direitos humanos.

These statistics help monitor the SDGs and strengthen democracy, human rights, and good governance.
