How do you turn dialogue into action?
The strategic dialogues that UNDP’s Global Policy Centre for Governance organises are structured multistakeholder conversations designed to unlock progress on complex policy issues.
In the run-up to the hashtag#FfD4 Conference, we identified 4 key lessons for running actionable strategic dialogues:
✅ Trust over agreement
✅ Creativity over consensus
✅ Adapt format to the needs
✅ Environment matters

When women lead across the justice chain, institutions are better placed to build trust, deliver fairer outcomes, and respond in more gender responsive ways.
UNDP’s new Women in Judiciary Dashboard offers a global picture of women’s representation across judicial systems, making visible both progress and persistent gaps.
This matters because data does more than describe reality — it makes reform possible. For too long, information has been fragmented and incomplete.
By bringing together comparable country data, this platform shows where women are advancing, and where barriers remain, especially at the highest levels.

Talking about sensitive issues is not always easy. Yet dealing with complexity can be simpler than you think — it’s about discussing differently.
Find out how UNDP’s Global Policy Centre for Governance designed and facilitated a knowledge track to help #FfD4 stakeholders navigate complex, politically sensitive issues, and what we learned about running strategic dialogues that actually move the needle ▶️ https://t.co/owZDcM2qJM

Many countries lack the data needed for accurate weather and climate forecasts.
The Systematic Observations Financing Facility @UN_SOFF - co-created by @WMO, @UNDP and @UNEP - helps close this gap.

Full house for the launch of the Women in the Judiciary Dashboard!
@UNDP's new global dashboard tracks women’s representation across judicial levels using harmonized official data from over 120 countries. It provides a comparable global picture of gender gaps in the judiciary and supports more informed policy dialogue. Its release directly informed several #CSW70 discussions, highlighting the urgent need for better and more consistent data to address persistent gender inequalities in judicial systems.
The launch event included the participation of @sa_lister, Co Director of UNDP's Governance, Rule of Law and Peacebuilding Hub, @melaniemhughes, Professor of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr Müge Finkel, Director of the Ford Institute for Human Security, @UshevaF, UNDP Governance Data Specialist, and @RaquelLagunas_, Director of UNDP's Gender Team.

You cannot fix what you cannot see.
Yesterday, Marina Walter, Deputy Director of @UNDPArabStates, presented the global dataset on Women in Judiciary Dashboard at #CSW70 with @sarah_hendriks@UN_Women, Sarah E. Turberville @IntlWomenJudges and @RuthMCross of the Republic of #Kiribati.
Walter underscored that investing in better data is not just technical, it is how we make injustice impossible to ignore.

Today were proud to launch UNDP’s Women in the Judiciary Dashboard at #CSW70 in NY.
The Dashboard is a first-of-its-kind global platform that makes women’s representation in courts visible and actionable. The picture it reveals is striking.
Women's representation in the judiciary ranges from over 80 percent in the highest-performing country to zero percent in others.
Even where numbers are relatively strong, women remain consistently underrepresented in higher level courts.
Special thanks to Marina Walter @UNDPArabStates, @sarah_hendriks@UN_Women, Sarah E. Turberville @IntlWomenJudges and @RuthMCross of the Republic of #Kiribati for an engaging discussion.
More details coming soon!

"UNDP welcomes the substantial progress made by the Praia Group on Governance Statistics," said Alexandra Wilde, @UNDPGPCG Team Lead for Governance Data and Analytics, at #UN57SC.
"At the same time, the work is not complete. Sustained effort is required to consolidate implementation, support capacity development, and further advance methodological guidance in additional subdomains of governance statistics."
For this reason, @UNDP is committed to continuing its engagement and support to the @PraiaGroup in a third term.
This would represent a significant step, writes @Toril_IP in her latest blog post: https://t.co/Rzk3JgALLM
