We all are abreast about the severe and widespread passenger disruption caused by recent mass cancellation of @IndiGo6E flights. It implies a failure rooted in operational and managerial shortcomings and provides a powerful, real-time warning about the risks of over-reliance on concentrated private power in essential services.
When a dominant private player, even in compliance-related areas, suffers a systemic failure, the resulting crisis exposes a national vulnerability. This demonstrates that profit orientation in vitally important sectors often overshadows public service viz a viz national interest.
On similar backdrop, the implications for the banking sector are direct and critical. Just as a private airline's internal lapse can paralyze nationwide travel, the complete handover of the financial system to profit-driven entities through mass privatization poses a grave risk to economic stability and social equity. This is why Public Sector Banks (PSBs) are indispensable.
Unlike private entities, PSBs operate with an explicit mandate for social responsibility and national development, ensuring that they are answerable and accountable to nation.
The Indigo episode is a stark reminder that there is urgent need to vigorously protect and strengthen our Public Sector Banks being indispensable pillars for safeguarding the economic welfare of the common citizen and ensuring protection of the nation’s interest.

AIBOC( WB) writes to @MamataOfficial@Chandrimaaitc requesting reinstate holiday on #Janmashtami on Aug 16. When 21 States & UTs have declared holiday under NI Act,why lacs of Bankers in #WB would be denied of significant Hindu Festival.Hope considerate CM will consider it.
A Nation’s Economic strength is built on the shoulders of its bankers, yet they remain overworked, understaffed & unheard. When policy decisions ignore their welfare, the very foundation of financial stability is shaken.
Why does a sector that safeguards deposits, finances dreams, and ensures economic resilience face shrinking manpower & increasing pressure? When every other institution enjoys structured work-life balance, why are those managing trillions in public funds denied basic working conditions?
6-day workweeks, staff shortages & unrealistic performance reviews are eroding morale. A profession that demands utmost integrity & precision is being run on stress, targets & fear.
🛑 Banking isn’t just business—it’s a national service. It’s time to recognize it as such.
📢 Fair recruitment, a #5DaysBanking & dignified policies aren’t privileges—they are necessities.
A system that thrives on the dedication of its officers must ensure their security, well-being & professional dignity.

Banking is not just a profession—it is a constitutional commitment to financial stability & national growth. Yet, those who ensure economic resilience face endless workweeks, shrinking manpower & policy paralysis that prioritizes numbers over human dignity.
Why should those managing trillions in public funds be denied the very rights enshrined for employees?
📢 The demand is simple: Fair policies, dignified working conditions & security from Assaults, arbitrary performance pressures. A system that thrives on the dedication of its officers must protect their well-being.
⚖️ Justice for bankers is justice for economic integrity. The voice of the banking community shouldn't be ignored.

Today’s Budget brought relief to middle-class families, but bankers are still waiting, probably because we don’t count as humans—just walking calculators with ties. While the rest of India enjoys #5DaysWorking, bankers are stuck in a time loop, living the same Monday six times a week. Maybe we should apply for government office jobs or join the IT sector just to remember what a weekend feels like.
We manage government schemes, drive financial inclusion, handle endless paperwork, and still get treated like we’ve asked for the moon when all we want is two days off. Is it too much to expect a work-life balance, or is that an exclusive club we’re not invited to? Maybe the Budget forgot us because we blend in so well with the office walls.
But here’s the thing—we’re done waiting. We stand united. We’re ready to strike. Because #5DaysBanking isn’t a luxury, it’s basic decency.

Bank employees are the backbone of the economy, yet they continue to face immense workload, unregulated working hours, and mounting stress. Despite repeated assurances, the commitment to implement #5DaysBanking remains unfulfilled. It’s time for @ChiefIba to honor its written promise in letter and spirit. A healthy work-life balance is not just an employee demand but a necessity for better productivity and efficient banking services. @DFS_India must act to ensure bankers get the fair working conditions they deserve!
@FinMinIndia
Bankers should be focused on numbers, not counting how many hours they have left to breathe. 5-day weeks, balance, and proper staffing are just basic upgrades.
Let’s aim for a world class-like work environment — efficient, no burnout, and still getting things done at lightning speed!
𝗔 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲: 𝗔 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.
💼 RBI, LIC,SEBI, ALL STATE Dept, All CENTRAL Dept,IT,NABARD,EXIM, EPFO—5DayWorking.
🏦 𝗣𝗦𝗕 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀?:- 6 Day grind, unpaid overtime, & weekend Branch duties!
👨👩👧👦 Govt employees plan vacations. Bankers plan how to survive another month.
💊 Govt employees get wellness programs. Bankers get stressed, BP & sleepless nights.
🏥 Others get Meditation Leave, Bankers get deducted leave for hospitalization, Anxiety, Stressed.
⚖️ Who protects those who protect public money? Every fraud alert, every financial crisis, every last-minute policy change—bankers absorb the shock while being treated as expendable.
📢 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 #5daybanking is a necessity, not a luxury! A burnt-out banker isn’t serving the nation; he’s merely surviving it.
A financial system cannot be strong when its frontline workers are drowning in work & devoid of dignity. A just economy starts with just policies.
