The craziest thing about World Cup month is realizing where you were in life during the last one. Shit I still remember watching my first World Cup game ever. A 4-year gap means your job, your relationship status, your friends, and your entire life situation are completely different, but you're sitting watching a random group stage game at 1 AM on a Tuesday. Around the 35th minute of the UEFA Conference League Final between Rayo Vallecano and Crystal Palace, with the game locked at 0-0, Batalla noticed a supporter in serious medical distress in the stands.

Without a second of hesitation, he sat down on the pitch and desperately signaled to the referee to stop the match immediately. Play was halted, medics rushed over, and the fan was safely attended to and taken care of.

That’s bigger than football. ❤️

In the biggest game of the season, Batalla showed what truly matters — human life comes first. Massive respect to him, the officials, and the medical team for reacting so quickly.

Football needs more moments like this. Praying the supporter is okay now.
