Another Proud Moment for the BSF

Commemorating its Diamond Jubilee Year, the Border Security Force Mt. Lhotse Expedition Team - five determined climbers, successfully summited the world’s fourth-highest peak, Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), on 23 May 2026 at about 05:20 AM IST.

Just hours after BSF’s Veeranganas unfurled glory on Mt. Everest, BSF’s men scripted another historic triumph on Mt. Lhotse. Two monumental summits in 48 hours.
Two teams standing atop two of the world’s tallest mountains.
One invincible spirit of the Force.

This back-to-back achievement reflects the extraordinary courage, discipline and resolve that define the BSF.

Under the leadership of Shri Lovraj Dharamshaktu, DC, the following BSF bravehearts proudly reached the summit:

Scaling the world’s highest peak with unmatched courage and determination, BSF’s first ever All Women Mt. Everest Expedition Team has scripted history under #MissionVandeMataram by successfully summiting Mt. Everest.

The BSF’s First all women mountaineering team comprising of Constable Kouser Fatima
from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rabeka Singh from Uttarakhand and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil, successfully summited the Mt Everest (8848.86 M) at 8 AM (IST) today.

Celebrating the BSF Diamond Jubilee Year, the Mahila Seema Praharis carried the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’ to the top of the world. At an altitude where most people require oxygen support and even standing upright is a challenge, they sang Vande Mataram in one unwavering voice - creating a historic milestone that reflects the strength, resilience and indomitable spirit of Nari Shakti.

This extraordinary achievement stands as a proud symbol of women empowerment, national pride and the BSF’s steadfast commitment to excellence.

To mark Diamond Jubilee - 60 years of service, sacrifice & courage, BSF Institute of Adventure and Advanced Training (BIAAT) hosted the inaugural Doon Half Marathon & 10 km run at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in association with Sports Authority of India.

Approx. 3500 participants from across India showcased vibrant enthusiasm in this grand celebration of fitness and unity.

Shri Satish S Khandare, Addl DG BSF was the Chief Guest and he inspired the youth to embrace fitness under the #FitIndiaMovement and "Sports for peace and Development: SPANDAN" initiative, underscoring that a healthy nation is the foundation of a developed India by 2047.

He felicitated the winners and lauded the spirited participation, while participants appreciated BSF’s exemplary organisation of this unique sporting event.
