Even with such a diverse course, forestry graduates are being ignored in favour of others. Take for instance, since 1990, the State Forest Service is recruiting candidates from science streams (other than forestry graduates) and maintaining the ambiguous eligibility criteria.
If forestry graduates are recruited for SFSs, it will save time and cost used to train forest officers. The professional quality of forestry graduates can b utilised in a much better way for forest conservation, management & development.
Forests aren't meant to b taken 4 granted.
Appointing apprentices, who are non forestry graduates selected by OPSC and giving 2-yr training at Ranger Training College would only result in money wastage where u have a plenty of professional graduates who would need less training then others
