Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other, has announced that it will become Liverpool Football Club’s Main Club Partner from 1 June 2027 with the airline’s logo appearing on the front of the men’s, women’s and academy shirts from the start of the 2027/28 season.
The announcement marks the next chapter in Liverpool FC’s commercial history and will represent the first change to the Club’s Main Club Partner in 17 years.
£300m in a 5 year deal. £60m per year.
For context, NUFC’s deal with KNOX is total £60m over 3 years (£20m per year).
Shows how hard it will be for NUFC to close the gap commercially
Turkish Airlines will become our main club partner from June 1, 2027, as Standard Chartered continues its long-standing relationship with the Club as a Global Partner.
The airline’s branding will appear on the front of our men’s, women’s and academy match shirts from the start of the 2027/28 season 🤝 https://t.co/PzYzKIGhes
elvis recorded more than 711 songs, but only 18 became global hits. thomas edison registered more than 1,100 patents, but people only remember one.
lionel messi has taken over 4,520 shots and only scored 859.
walt disney was rejected 302 times because of a lack of creativity before he got mickey mouse financed. van gogh made more than 2,100 paintings, died poor, and most people can't name more than 10.
james dyson built 5,127 prototypes and only 1 changed his life.
and you're giving up cos you haven't got what you want after trying what? twice? or maybe just 10 times? look, and at the end of the day, you don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great.
a winner is just a loser that tried one more time and that's just it. winners lose more than losers even try.
Berikut artikel saya di Finance and Development Magazine, “ Why Development Feels Harder”. Mengapa pertumbuhan tak lagi cukup meredam keresahan? Manufaktur makin sedikit menyerap tenaga kerja, sementara banyak jasa berproduktivitas rendah dan tak dapat diekspor. Tantangannya bukan lagi manufaktur vs jasa, tetapi menciptakan pekerjaan produktif di sektor tradable.
Here is my latest article in Finance & Development, “Why Development Feels Harder.”
Why is economic growth no longer enough to ease discontent? Manufacturing is absorbing fewer workers, while many services remain low-productivity and non-tradable. The challenge is no longer manufacturing versus services, but how to create productive jobs in tradable sectors.

Liverpool’s new owners want the full takeover done within 12 months.
Not a partnership. Not a minority stake. Control.
They want this club pushed to another level and full control in the January window.

YOUR STRUGGLES WILL PAY OFF
You suffered alone. Ate alone. Nobody was there for you. You went through hell. Came back with a smile. You cried when no one was around. You survived. You found strength within yourself. Good things started happening. You embraced courage. You became wiser. You made yourself proud. Look how far you have come.
When you win - don’t announce it.
Celebrate it by yourself.
Feel every second of it.
After your first MASSIVE Victory - life becomes much easier because you’ve survived the worst of it, now it’s just the side quests that interest you.
the people that work hard the hardest are the people who make the most money is one of the biggest lies that you've fed.
listen, my late mom used to clean houses for a company far back in her day and she was the one that did all the work.
she was the one who fucked up her knees cos of it but the company is the one that became richer and it took me so many years to realize that the amount of money you make is not directly correlated with how much effort you put in, but instead to how much leverage you have.
most of the richest people i've ever met, they're not working hard, they're not grinding
should i shock you? they're also not locking in. they are just using leverage, other people's work and other people's money to make more of theirs. the only thing they do is they take the insane amount of risks associated with it.
back to my late mom example... she carried the labor but the company carried the risk and that's why they got paid more and richer.
which led me to stop asking , "how can i work harder?" and start asking, "where is my leverage and what's the risk i'm willing to take?" the harsh truth is that the world doesn't pay you for how hard you work or how loyal you are to your work. it pays you for the ownership, leverage and risk you control, and how ruthlessly you're willing to pursue the outcome you want.
you can destroy your body working for someone else's dream and still retire broke. hard work without leverage will keep you poor for decades.
you cannot go back and rewrite the decisions that shaped your past. so stop negotiating with a version of yourself that no longer exists. forgive yourself. learn from it. take the lesson, leave the shame, and move forward. you are still alive. that means the story is still being written. you haven’t lost until you decide you’re finished. rebuild.
