Satoshi created a free market for chronologically verifiable computational assurance.
The machines are already writing the code. Those machines are called compilers.
We, programmers, simply specify the solution in sufficient detail so that the machines can write the code.

"Money-free" works if we either assume there'll be a Garden of Eden, in which all wants are always perfectly satisfied, or that everyone will be happy with only the bare minimum of goods yet will eagerly work to provide for everyone else.
It's easy to see how ridiculous this is.

The Difficulty Adjustment is the great missing innovation that made #Bitcoin work.
