John was never anything but kind and encouraging to me, which, I’m sure, has been the experience of many other younger men. I give thanks for his Bible-shaped life and his Bible-saturated ministry.

Our hearts are heavy, yet rejoicing, as we share the news that our beloved pastor and teacher John MacArthur has entered into the presence of the Savior. This evening, his faith became sight. He faithfully endured until his race was run.

Don't want church to feel like a routine?
-Pray before you get there.
Ask God to speak to you.
-Listen to worship music on
the way.
-Take a Bible with you, instead
of relying on the screens.
-Don't run late.
-Sing loudly like you mean it.
-Take notes.
-Expect God to move.
An idol is whatever you look at and say, in your heart of hearts, ‘If I have that, then I’ll feel my life has meaning, then I’ll know I have value, then I’ll feel significant and secure.
“We will not neglect the house of our God.” Nehemiah 10:39
Today that house is the body of Christ, the church.
If she is in need, we do not turn away in neglect.
We do what we can, small as it may be, to build, strengthen, purify, empower, gladden, make fruitful.
Jesus told His disciples that some demons can only be cast out by prayer (Mark 9:29). Why is this? Listen on the #AskLigonier podcast as Sinclair Ferguson considers how Christ calls us to absolute dependence on God as we seek to serve Him. https://t.co/oVQRoUsuq6
Sermon length does matter but there should be more discussion about how to encourage prayerful engagement with God’s word before, during and after a sermon. https://t.co/qDr5Dyn17Q
