There is a deep irony to believing “children can consent” protects children from pedophilia
Children get groomed into thinking that sort of thing is okay, and your ideas could reinforce that by treating them like they’re capable of consent.
Children cannot trust their instincts.
@PreciousWizard 2. The ad is not about assuming Grandma is dangerous. It’s about teaching children to recognise their own discomfort, trust their instincts, and know their parents will support them when they say no to unwanted touch even when social pressure makes it difficult.
Is there any kind of evidence that pushing consent ethics at every level for children prevents abuse?
Even if we accept that dubious premise, what about other effects? Like being socially stunted, unable to express their feelings or affection?
Consent matters at every age. Children aren’t toys or possessions, and even newborns deserve bodily autonomy and respect. No religious institution should put tradition above a person’s right to say no.
Putti were a mistake in art. I don’t care if they’re “charming”, they’re not a proper depiction of angels. Especially given their origins in Greek pagan erotic symbolism.
While their damage isn’t comparable to Dawkins, they’re not good and we should discourage their use.
"Oh you're not going be eaten, calm down"
Oh yeah? So a few days ago, when thousands of mongrels marched in the streets of France to "protest", all 1500 local businesses looted were big names, right?
Commies are evil fucking liars. They will let everything be destroyed
@FawcettKid ?? The rich that we’re talking about are mega corpo people like bezos, musk, djokohadikusumo, etc. Your happy little ‘rich’ family can calm your nerves dan gausah geer
@ShitePike@ZeldaZealot It is important to care for all humanity, because they are all made in the image of God.
This doesn’t require enabling or supporting their beliefs, but wanting what is best for them.
@ShitePike@ZeldaZealot So you only care about people you like.
Even some of the most horrible people on the planet care for people they like.
That’s really nothing to brag about.
@SableOnyxIV@Gudabeg Go read the parable of the unforgiving debtor.
The Lord’s prayer says forgive us our trespassers *as we forgive those who trespass against us*
In Ephesians, we are told to put away all bitterness, wrath, and anger, and to treat others with the mercy Christ gave us.
