At Republican Jewish gala, NY gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Blakeman casts race as a fight against Mamdani: “Zohran Mamdani, you better behave yourself, or I will discipline you like I will discipline a child.” https://t.co/meSASVRwg1
NEW: Adam Hamawy tells @JTAnews that he is "deeply worried" about the "continued rise" of antisemitism.
"As a Muslim, I understand what it feels like to face bigotry, to feel unsafe in your community and to have your loyalty to this country questioned."

Bruce Blakeman, the Trump-backed Republican candidate for NY governor, attended an Israeli real estate expo today to show "solidarity with the city of Jerusalem and the State of Israel." https://t.co/LyyKtKn4G7
Eli Northrup, a Jewish public defender, was endorsed by Bernie Sanders today for NY State Assembly. I spoke with him recently about vacant storefronts, buffer zones, and his complex relationship with the word "Zionism." https://t.co/Ek8Mk4mkpj
NEW: My dispatch from JDCA’s national summit, where Jacob Frey spoke at length about Israel and anti-Zionism:
“You can recognize that the history is complex. That there are areas where we collectively as Jews can improve. Where policies can be improved.”

At latest NY-12 forum:
- Jack Schlossberg supports Bernie Sanders' recent resolutions to block certain weapons sales to Israel
- Things got testy between Schlossberg and Micah Lasher. "I'm just going to watch the boys fight," Nina Schwalbe joked https://t.co/9hGOWBAF4k
I asked Schlossberg about yesterday’s Park East protest. He condemned protesters’ rhetoric, while calling the event happening inside “unfortunate.”
“I don’t think a land sale for real estate that is in violation of international law should be happening in a house of worship.”
Another NY-12 candidates forum at an Upper West Side shul. Tonight’s, at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, featured Nina Schwalbe, Jack Schlossberg, Micah Lasher, George Conway and was moderated by Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch. Alex Bores was in DC.

On a night when protesters clashed with counter-protesters and got in yelling matches with passersby, there was one spot in the vicinity with seemingly no disturbances: the entrance to Park East Synagogue. https://t.co/h8ld4KlJiz
Alex Bores will miss tonight’s NY-12 candidates forum at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, after initially being on the lineup. He took questions at another Upper West Side synagogue’s forum on Monday.
At #NY12 candidate forum held at The Jewish Center, a modern Orthodox synagogue on the Upper West Side, Micah Lasher and Alex Bores take questions on issues important to Jewish voters.
Rabbi Yosie Levine, the moderator, says “another candidate” aka Jack Schlossberg “declined to participate.”
A protester drums on a “Messiah is here” sign depicting the Lubavitcher Rebbe, down the block from Park East Synagogue, where hundreds are protesting the “Great Israeli Real Estate Event.”
Micah Lasher calls the planned protest tonight “part and parcel of the rising antisemitism that we are facing.” Lasher introduced a buffer zone bill after the November protest outside Park East.
Actions like the one planned for tonight by PAL-Awda outside Park East Synagogue are intended to create fear in the hearts of Jewish New Yorkers and stigmatize our community. This is part and parcel of the rising antisemitism that we are facing. Whatever your politics, whatever your views, this is not the New York way and should be condemned.
The right to free speech, even when it is condemnable, is sacrosanct. So, too, is the safety of New Yorkers. I am grateful to the NYPD for the work that I am confident they will do this evening to protect those entering Park East Synagogue and make sure that a protest does not turn into a gauntlet of hate through which Jews must pass.
Alex Bores, whose Assembly district includes Park East, writes in a statement that the protest is of the group renting the space, not the synagogue itself.
“Nevertheless, this naturally conjures painful memories,” he writes, pointing to a Nov protest outside the same synagogue.
Anti-Zionist group PAL-Awda plans to protest the "Great Israel Real Estate Event" tonight at Park East Synagogue. Comes after council passed a bill further regulating protests outside houses of worship (but with a 90-day delay, so bill's not in effect yet)

Darializa Avila Chevalier, a former Columbia encampment organizer, says her NY-13 opponent is “bought by the Israeli lobby.”
Now, supporters are coalescing around her as a chance to add a staunchly pro-Palestinian progressive to Congress. https://t.co/kOF3x0aPq5
Re buffer zone bill: Wilson was the only candidate who said he'd vote to override Mamdani's veto. That was a big part of his pitch to voters at a Shabbat service this weekend alongside Julie Menin. https://t.co/heyOs2rsNp
