When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
BREAKING: Trump’s new Fed Reserve pick to replace Jerome Powell gets exposed in the latest Epstein files release.
You can’t make this up.
Donald Trump just nominated Kevin Warsh to run the Federal Reserve—handing control of the world’s most powerful central bank to a man whose name surfaced the very same day in the newly released Epstein files.
According to the latest disclosure from the Epstein document dump, Warsh was among the elite guests who partied with Jeffrey Epstein in St. Barths during the 2010 Christmas holidays—years after Epstein’s crimes were public knowledge and after his notorious 2008 sweetheart plea deal. While Warsh has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing, the timing is impossible to ignore.
Because while the DOJ was quietly releasing files exposing Epstein’s social network, Trump was loudly praising Warsh as “central casting” and “maybe the best” future Fed chair.
That’s Trumpworld in a nutshell: scandal below deck, champagne on top.
Warsh is being sold as a “serious” economic thinker who can preserve the Fed’s independence—even as Trump openly demands loyalty tests and threatens anyone who won’t slash interest rates on command. Sen. Elizabeth Warren put it bluntly, calling Warsh a “sock puppet” who conveniently reshaped his views to match Trump’s talking points.
Now add this: Epstein-era holiday partying with the same billionaire class that always seems to land on its feet.
This isn’t about one vacation. It’s about pattern and privilege.
Trump has spent months screaming about transparency, Epstein files, and “the elites”—while elevating figures who moved comfortably in those same elite circles. Warsh’s nomination comes as Trump ramps up pressure on the Fed, subpoenas Jerome Powell, and openly tries to bend monetary policy to his political will.
And now the man Trump wants controlling interest rates, banking oversight, and trillions in assets is someone whose name just surfaced in documents tied to one of the most infamous criminal networks in modern history.
Markets already flinched. Stocks dipped. Gold plunged. Congress is bracing for a confirmation fight.
But the real question is simpler: why does Trump’s inner circle keep overlapping with Epstein’s world—and why are they always rewarded, not questioned?
The Federal Reserve is supposed to be independent. Trump just nominated someone straight out of the billionaire bubble—Epstein shadows and all—to prove it isn’t.
And Americans are once again left asking: who is this system really built to serve?

In the USA in 1943 they produced a film 'Don't be a Sucker' about fascism.
It perfectly explains Nigel Farage, Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the entire Right.
"What are the odds that you had a creeper party and the only person you invited is the most notorious sex criminal in the country? Doesn't look great." @Timodc on Trump's bizarre Epstein "party":
Trump: We’re going to get the drug prices down by 1000% 600% 500% 1500%. Numbers that are not even thought to be achievable.
Is Donald Trump the dumbest person to ever hold public office?
