It's an uphill battle for small accounts.
Not to mention, if you don't have a premium account, you're even further down the pecking order.

Our feeds are broken.

A tiny 1-5% of accounts dominate, flooding us with nonsense.

Read their stuff, 9/10 it’s objectively garbage.

They didn’t win because they are "better". They won because they cracked the system.

Pods. Cabals. Engagement loops. The algo rewarded it.

If ranking & reach was actually smart, follower count would matter a lot less than:
• Does this say anything new?
• Is it useful?
• Is it true?
• Is it well argued?

Right now it is especially bad on LinkedIn, and it is brutal on X.

@elonmusk @nikitabier quality should be the cheat code, not collusion.

Small account life on 𝕏 (81 followers as of now):

Drop a trending, on-topic banger → 120–150 impressions max, if it's fire? Solid 7-10% engagement rate. A good engagement rate keeps the spirits high despite reach being nowhere.

Reply half-funny/half-relevant to a big account → impressions explode (2-5k+ easy), 50 likes... but engagement rate tanks to <1%.

Question: Does engagement rate even matter when building from tiny?
