Solidarity with our members on the Isle of Man.
Every child deserves the best education, and that begins with a profession that is valued, supported and respected.
Victimisation of NAHT trade union officials will not be tolerated.
This is very welcome. NAHT has been seeking a review of the CFF for many years (it is one of the recommendations from the school leader workload review). We are pleased that the Minister has taken this on, and we are looking forward to engaging fully in the process.
The NAHT delegation is attending the ICTU Biennial Delegate Conference over the coming days. We look forward to engaging in meaningful debate and discussion with colleagues from across the movement, united in our commitment to protecting and advancing rights across Ireland.
What we are witnessing is the entirely predictable result of a decade of chronic underfunding.
We continue to encourage members to engage constructively to explore what may be possible, but system failure cannot be resolved through coercion or blame.
Today is a special day. We are in the @niassembly to launch the NAHT report ‘Effective Early Intervention for Nursery & Early Years: What children, parents & schools require’ by Clare Majury and Emma Corry.
Dr Graham Gault provides the Northern Ireland update and the plans to continue to push for systemic change. This is an opportunity for great change and a radical rebalancing of workload.
Showing solidarity with our @NAHT_NI colleagues, me and @PresidentNAHTNI Jackie Bartley decided to swap our national colours on day#2 of #NAHTConf@CymruNAHT
Working together, fighting for children, standing up for school leaders
We kicked off #NAHTConf this morning with our annual meeting of officials - here they are showing their solidarity for one of the last year's most successful NAHT campaigns to protect school leaders from abuse by parents.
The NAHT general secretary, Paul Whiteman, said:
No one should have to suffer this sort of abuse in their place of work. It causes enormous distress … and is contributing to decisions by good people to leave the profession .
The Commissioner visited Ballyclare Nursery School this morning to speak with reps from the @NAHT_NI on early years provisions and their recent report they have launched.
