@JazRignall As a kid in the 80s and early 90s, one of my favourite memories was rescuing my older brothers Atari 2600 from the loft and being impressed at how much fun you could have with 2 players, despite how basic the games seemed on the surface. I never felt that so much with C64...
@CrackerwaxRates@JazRignall I can't believe I'm just learning about the two joystick system in 2025! I have a memory of not being able to drop oil or smoke on c64 Spy Hunter as a 9 year old and just accepting it as a faulty game/joystick.
@mynewcat@JazRignall It's funny I was always jealous of the U.S design as a kid but now I can fully agree that it's an ugly design. Not a fan of the cartridges either
@DudiAppleton Hi, is there a way I can watch A Sort of Homecoming that you know of? I once had a VHS recording of it from when it was shown on TV one night when I was about 15 and must have watched a good dozen times
@JazRignall Funnily enough the David Whittaker soundtrack seems to be inspired by other songs around at the time, particularly this part...

@JazRignall We always called it Zelda 3 and I still catch myself referring to Super Mario World as "Mario 4" after all this time, which is weird considering Super Mario Land was also a UK released main series game. For some reason that didn't count back then...
@JazRignall Thanks for sharing these, it really helps contextualise how far capture technology has evolved in the 30 odd years. Tasks like this and the Street Fighter 2 VHS (The OG let's play!) must have been a logistical nightmare at the time but can now be easily handled in console.
@JazRignall Very impressive to get the contrast perfect, considering how difficult the OG gameboy was to view with the naked eye! Guessing either a very fast shutter speed to combat ghosting on the fireball or you've tactically chopped out the pause indicator in the bottom right.
