ILLINOIS STATE REP. CAROL AMMONS INDICTED ON FEDERAL FELONY CHARGES

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois State Representative Carol Ammons (D-Urbana) has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple felony charges, according to an indictment unsealed on July 8, 2026. Her husband, Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons, has also been charged in the federal case.

Federal prosecutors allege Carol Ammons participated in a scheme involving state grant funding, campaign finances, and efforts to obstruct a federal investigation.

According to the indictment, Carol Ammons is charged with:

* Wire fraud
* Making false statements to the FBI
* Conspiracy to obstruct justice

Prosecutors allege Ammons directed state grant money to nonprofit organizations after they hired her daughter, despite an alleged conflict of interest. The indictment further alleges she received kickbacks through fraudulent campaign expenses and that she and her daughter improperly benefited by more than $100,000.

Aaron Ammons, the elected Champaign County Clerk, is also accused of participating in efforts to obstruct the federal investigation.

The charges follow a separate federal indictment announced in June against the couple’s daughter, Titianna Ammons, who is accused of wire fraud related to alleged pandemic-era unemployment benefits.

An indictment contains allegations only. Carol Ammons and Aaron Ammons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

After killing Tommie, Awad continued to rape the young girl next to Tommies dead body.

The Sudanese migrant had already previously been convicted of several crimes, including sexual harassment, drug offences & shoplifting.

Had he been deported, Tommie would still be alive.

Ariel Robinson was convicted of aggravated murder of a child and sentenced to life in prison.

Her husband, Jerry Robinson, pleaded guilty to failing to protect the girl and testified against his wife. He received the maximum sentence under the plea deal, 20 years.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly attacking a 15-year-old girl in East Harlem when she refused to give him her phone number.

According to police, the girl tried to walk away, but he allegedly followed her, shoved her, harassed her, then body-slammed her before stomping on her head.

One of the children, Calli Toler, did not survive and has gone to be with the Lord.

She was just 6 years old.

Troopers said 33-year-old Jaime Santiago Corona, an illegal immigrant, was traveling south with a revoked license in a Dodge Ram pickup when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

He T-boned Kelli Toler's SUV at an extremely high rate of speed.

Kelli and her 4-year-old son are fighting for their lives at the hospital, but little Calli was pronounced de*d at the scene.
