An STI is slightly different from an STD. An STI is an infection that may not cause any noticeable symptoms but can still be spread, such as HPV, while an STD is a disease that causes external symptoms and may develop from an STI.
As of the end of 2017, more than 20 million of the world’s 37 million people with HIV were taking antiretroviral therapy (ART). Despite this major #publichealth achievement, almost 2 million new infections continue to occur each year. https://t.co/0KdJmwZYgj
Since 1981, the beginning of this epidemic, over 70 million people have been infected with the HIV virus and approximately 35 million people have died. Lets not push this problem down the drain, be the voice and tell your peers to GET TESTED!
If you think you may have an STI, you should go and get tested immediately because some STIs can be treated and cured if you get tested and get help for them right away. #gettested#STIawareness#STDawareness#STI
