Bradford and Birmingham take nearly £6 billion a year in working-age benefits.
The income tax and National Insurance their residents pay comes to less.
Two cities absorbing more in benefits than they contribute in the taxes that fund them is not sustainable.
I think the level of hysteria around the Man City case is becoming very weird.
People genuinely acting like the Club has to be destroyed and sent to the shadow realm have lost the plot in my opinion.
They weren’t found guilty of match fixing. They weren’t paying refs. This isn’t comparable to the Serie A scandal or Lance Armstrong.
They saw an anti-competitive and unjust rule which only allowed the same 4 teams to dominate the League and said “no, we don’t want to wait decades to slowly build up revenues and have to sell our best players every time they do well to stop us from succeeding. We have the money, we’re not going to be irresponsible with Man City’s finances, we want to invest and compete now”.
Again, the idea that every team other than 3/4 in the League has to go on a constant merry-go-round of “hey that player for you guys is really good, we’re going to just take him because you can’t invest any more of your own money and he would be wasted at a middling team like you” is wrong. It doesn’t help football in this country and the rules should change to allow these clubs to be bought by owners with even deeper pockets who can give those clubs and even higher chance of sustained success.
Grown men crying about city. Actually crying and moaning oooo city ruined my life because I didn’t see men lift a trophy. You lot are actual losers in life I swear!!
@Priceless_MCI Real Arsenal fans want nothing to do with second hand trophies. We don’t want anything handed to us. It was won on the pitch at the end of the day and that’s what matters
After investment from UAE, Man City had to spend to break into the top tier of the Premier League.
🗣️ Kieran Maguire:
This led to the concept of ‘financial fair play’
Which has nothing to do with fairness.
It’s all to do with protectionism…
Imagine buying a business and wanting it to succeed so you put your own money into it. Your rival business is 1 billion in debt but for some reason they can spend more than you and receive no sanctions punishment or even a conversation.
🎙Mark Goldbridge: "I think the rules (FFP) prevents teams from top four-winning titles" 👏
"It allows the real criminals in football like the Glazers to stay in power, protected by the #PL because we're a big club. Yet clubs who put money in get punished massively" 😡

@danielwilks10 Bro what am I reading!! Are you ok?? Everything good? You really saying to drop H… that’s wild. This new football say stuff for engagement is not for me at all
So let me get this straight, T Mac could have won with Shaq, but couldn’t get out the first round with Yao Ming. But Yao got out the first round without T Mac 🤣. And he on Kobe Bryant level? 🤣🤣🤣
