Sir Piers and Lady Silvia Le Marchant visited the library last week. Sir Piers is a direct descendant of Major-General John Gaspard Le Marchant, the Guernseyman who founded the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, and who died in 1812 at the Battle of Salamanca #guernsey

The film follows the life of Jakob Arnold, a German naval rating, including his posting in Guernsey from 1941-1942, through photographs. #guernsey #WWII

Look what Miffy from @CandieMuseum brought into the Library today for the little ones, along with lots of other Victorian toys from their collection! This is a praxinoscope, the successor to the zoetrope. It was invented in France in 1877 #christmaspresents #guernsey
