@AntiProfessor According to Joseph Rykwert, Eileen Gray was very particular to insist on her Irish nationality. When he mentioned on her 98th birthday that she was only two years short of a telegram from the Queen, she responded, ‘but I’m an Irish Republican, don’t you know’!
