Every school has them, those handful of individuals who have an aura of negativity. They complain about everything and try drag others down with them. Whatever you do, avoid them. And leaders, try to protect your other staff from them, especially your new Ts.
Letter grades and numbers don’t define learning. Simple as that. When adults are late to work or don’t turn items in on time (both happen often), I don’t penalize them. I understand that life happens. Giving kids a lower score because of lateness teaches them nothing.
