This compilation of what Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has said about independent pay review bodies will cause anger & outrage amongst teachers across the country

Where is the duty of care, especially considering the overwhelming (and growing) body of evidence of the significant negative impact it is having on the profession? Who's safeguarding us?

“The crucial factor is that any pay award is fully funded by the government at an individual school level, so that every school can afford to pay their teachers without having to make cuts to education provision”: my comments for @ASCL_UK:
“The paper … finds that when schools get more money, students tend to score better on tests and stay in school longer, at least according to the majority of rigorous studies on the topic.” https://t.co/VLbrClG4Ar

A stinger from the Office for Statistics Regulation to the DfE.
When Peston asked Gillian Keegan, "To be clear the pay rise will not cut into school services?”
She replied, “no”.
It wasn’t true then. It’s not true now.
And the OSR has now told the DfE to be clearer.

OSR Adjudicates on Gillian Keegan Funding Claims
The Office for Statistics Regulation has replied to a letter from the National Education Union about Government claims on school funding and the evidence they presented for their claims.
Ofsted reports are actually designed to be unbalanced. Strengths are only mentioned once-but all weaknesses are mentioned once in the main text & then repeated in the areas for improvement. Why? Do they think that everyone needs to be told twice about 'weaknesses'?
After all the campaigning, the voices speaking out about the damage done, now would be an ideal time for Ofsted to pause and give schools some breathing space as they contend with exams, SATs and record absences. #Ofsted#SATSweek
So today Ofsted turned up at a school and rattled on about looking after the staff's mental well being.............erm........it is SATs week? Does anyone else see the irony in this?
There's debate over @NAHTnews stance on its members handing in their Ofsted badges. In 2022, 800 of just over 1000 inspectors were serving heads.
Imagine if you all temporarily handed in your badges until reform happened.
JUST this could change everything.
Enough is Enough.
