Nous venons de remettre ce 30 Mai un lot de 45 tables et 45 bancs à l'UNI50/ Lwiro, située à 5 kilomètres du #PNKB à l’Est de la RDC. Ce geste vise à améliorer les conditions d'apprentissage des étudiants et à renforcer la sensibilisation à la protection des primates non humains.

Une communauté unique de babouins à #Nyangezi, RDC. Leur habitat dénudé les pousse à marauder les cultures locales, intensifiant les conflits avec les paysans. Autrefois sanctuaire, les prairies sont maintenant des pâturages pour le bétail.

We have been pleased to meet pupils from nature clubs in 13 schools surrounding KBNP and RNAI/Idjwi. Their mentoring aims to instill a culture of conservation & environmental protection. 6 school nurseries have been set up by pupils using traditional pots.

In order to strengthen biodiversity conservation on Idjwi, particularly the Schouteden's blue monkeys, we are conducting a #biodiversity #survey in the #Idjwi-#Nyamusisi Nature Reserve (#RNAI) to determine the faunal and floral diversity of the reserve.

Avec l'aménagement des jardins à plantes médicinales, PEx implique les communautés locales pygmées (Muyange, Cibuga, Buyungule) et bantous (Kashanja et Kafurumaye) à la #conservation des gorilles au PNKB. Pour 2022 et 2023 nous avons installé 5 jardins de plus de 83 espèces.

The gorilla naming ceremony organized at #Tshivanga, the headquarters of the #KBNP, left a lasting impression. On 5 Oct. 23, we attended the naming ceremony for 6 G. gorillas, including 2 SB (Kabare & Shosho), 3 babies (Stamina, Youssoufa, & Milan), and one adult female (Mpeko).

To strengthen cohesion among PEx team members, we organized our first ever #teambuilding at @EmeraudeKivu. This experience will strengthen team bonds and improve our performance, leading to a positive impact on the #conservation of Grauers gorilla.
