If you look carefully, Mt Taranaki was wearing a small hat at 7am this morning. 15 minutes later the hat (and the fog in the foreground) was gone. https://t.co/Yjbq0jgaoz.
Thanks @PrimoBroadband for the images from Midhirst. ^SG
Another fine start for most this morning. Although there are areas of fog due to the settled conditions under a ridge of high pressure. A front currently lies in the lower South Island. Here is an image showing some valley fog in the Taranaki region, thanks to @PrimoBroadband ^KL

It's been a challenging year for everyone, but there are those in our community that have had it a bit tougher due to a variety of circumstances. The changes in how we interact with each other has shone a spotlight on how essential having a good internet connection is.

"Wake" up, Taranaki Maunga! 🗻
Mt Taranaki is leaving a patch of blue sky in its "wake" as a thin bank of cloud moves across from the northwest. It's just like the "wake" behind a boat ⛵, or perhaps a duck 🦆 on the water!

@MetService Thanks for the shout-out Dan. Here's a timelapse of the prior 24hrs from the same camera. Wind conditions were similar so you can see the effect in motion.

How was your sunrise this morning?
Another foggy morning for some, especially across the central North Island ☁
Cloud and mist can be seen in the background of this Lake Ratapiko (Taranaki) sunrise this morning ⛅
Cheers @PrimoBroadband for the image! ^Ash
