@Jeremy_Hunt here's a reason why you shouldn't go ahead with ratio changes.
Our son went to nursery, and never came home.. suffered catastrophic brain damage after choking on a substantial amount of food, inappropriate for his age.
We have serious concerns as to whether or not management chose to ignore ratio guidelines, on a day of high staff sickness, therefore operating without ratio and paediatric first aid forefront. This will be forever engraved into our hearts as a constant pain.
Our petition chaired by the lovely @CatMcKinnell was debated after 109,488 signatures. The debate found there was zero support for changes to ratios and it was not safe and would not incur any savings being passed to parents. DfE's own evidence suggests it will also have an impact on a child's education. Yet you will wish to now go ahead with this absurd and dangerous policy change without putting children's health and safety forefront.
The @educationgovuk has yet to release its consultation results on its consultation last year, and i'm guessing it's being buried because it shows the entire sector is against these changes being proposed.
@RishiSunak on the 3rd of January this year said the plans had been shelved, and we celebrated a small victory in the safety of children across the United Kingdom but now, we are back to challenging your awful and dangerous decisions whilst playing politics with children's lives.
We ask now respectfully that you meet with us, of parents who have campaigned tirelessly and through the pain of grieving for our son Oliver following his death in nursery, @EYAlliance & @PregnantScrewed and any other organisations who wish to partake. It's very clear you will not listen to the public, or the sector.
I will also now be looking into legal advice to see if there is anything we can do to put a stop to this shambles of a government playing with the lives of our children.
