Registered Charity Number 1207047. Fundraising to put LifeVac's into all registered childcare settings. Account in memory of our Son Oliver who died at Nursery.
We are incredibly grateful to the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust whose generous support has enabled The Oliver Steeper Foundation to fund 50 FREE LifeVac anti-choking devices for registered Early Years settings across Folkestone & Hythe.
These invaluable, proven life-saving devices are intended for use when first aid has failed or cannot be performed during a choking emergency and will help provide an additional layer of protection for children across our local community.
Applications are now open to registered EYFS childcare settings including childminders, nurseries and preschools within Folkestone & Hythe.

Together, we can continue working towards making childcare settings safer for every child.
A new counterfeit is currently circulating called āRescueBreath. A product which appears to mimic the design and concept of LifeVac, whilst lacking the fundamental safeguards and regulatory standards expected of a genuine medical device in the United Kingdom.
Unlike genuine MHRA-regulated devices supplied through LifeVac Europe LTD, these imitation products raise serious concerns surrounding safety, accountability and compliance. We have seen examples with no legitimate CE/UKCA compliance markings, no verified MHRA registration, no transparent clinical oversight and no evidence of recognised regulatory approval for emergency airway clearance use.
This is not simply a cheap alternative. When a device is intended to be used during a life-threatening choking emergency involving a child, poor manufacturing standards, counterfeit imitation designs or unregulated products could have devastating consequences, and can be fatal when used.
A device used in a medical emergency should never be bought purely because it is cheaper online.
We strongly urge all childcare settings, parents and organisations to:
⢠Verify MHRA registration and regulatory compliance
⢠Purchase only from trusted authorised suppliers
⢠Avoid imitation or counterfeit āLifeVac-styleā products
⢠Report potentially unsafe medical devices to the MHRA Yellow Card scheme
When seconds matter, safety, testing and regulation matter.
Counterfeit and imitation products have no place in child safety.

Tomorrow, London Marathon takes on a very special meaning for us. @LondonMarathon
Chaz Mount will be lining up at the start, not after months of careful planning and training, but after stepping up at short notice in the most selfless way. When his wonderful partner Billie found out she was pregnant, Chaz made the decision to take on the challenge himself rather than see the place be postponed. That says everything about the kind of person he is.
In just a matter of weeks, Chaz has prepared for one of the most physically and mentally demanding races there is. It is no small task. The miles are long, the crowds are relentless, and the course tests every ounce of determination you have. Yet he is doing it with purpose, whilst being chased by Daddy Pig.
Together, Chaz and Billie have already raised over £4,900 for our charity. For a small foundation like ours, that level of support is truly significant. It will directly help us continue placing life-saving Lifevac devices into childcare settings and protecting young lives and staff within.
If you can, please get behind Chaz as he takes on this gruelling challenge tomorrow. Every bit of encouragement and support matters when the legs start to tire and the finish line still feels far away. If you do see Chaz in his branded shirt, please give him a massive cheer!
You can support him here:

Chaz, we are incredibly grateful. We will be cheering you on every step of the way, just like you've taken Every Step For Oliver š·
As part of our āBig moments, bright futuresā campaign, weāve installed lifesaving LifeVac anti-choking devices across all 50+ Banana Moon nurseries in the UK.
A huge thanks goes to @TOSFoundationUK for making this possible š

@andyc142@MartinSLewis Even us small little ones? Seems harsh when there are genuine charities which pay zero wages, zero expenses, other than insurance and a few pitch fees' a year etc. Not sure how we fall into your conclusion.
As we reflect on the year, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the public, local communities, and businesses who have supported The Oliver Steeper Foundation throughout the past twelve months.
Thanks to that collective support, we have had another incredible year and have now delivered more than 1,560 LifeVac devices to early years settings across the UK, helping to improve safety for children nationwide.
We would also like to formally thank our trustees for their continued leadership, governance, and commitment to our mission, as well as our truly amazing volunteers who have given their time, energy, and dedication to support our work throughout the year. Their support has been instrumental in driving forward the LifeVac campaign and ensuring this vital equipment reaches the settings that need it most.
Above all, we hope that Oli is looking down, proud of what has been achieved in his memory. After years of tireless campaigning, the changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage were rolled out this September, strengthening protections for children and creating a lasting legacy from his life.
Lewis and Zoe would also like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. Thank you for standing alongside us and for being part of everything we have achieved this year.
Today, Oliver should have been celebrating his 5th birthday.
We grieve every single day. That never changes. The loss, the pain, and the quiet moments of what should have been stay with us always. But alongside that grief sits something else too.
Oliverās name has gone on to protect other children. Through The Oliver Steeper Foundation and our LifeVac campaign, his legacy is now one of safety, awareness, and lives saved. Knowing that Oliverās story has helped place life-saving equipment into nurseries, preschools, and childminders across the UK brings a small but deeply meaningful comfort to a pain that will never fully leave us.
This year also marked a pivotal moment. After three years of dedicated campaigning for change following Oliverās death, the reality of what happened has finally been recognised within the EYFS. From September this year, changes to the EYFS came into effect, strengthening safeguarding requirements and increasing the safety of children even further across early years settings.
No parent should ever have to experience this kind of loss. If Oliverās name can help prevent even one family from living this reality, then his life continues to matter in the most powerful way.
Happy 5th birthday, Oliver. Your legacy is protecting children every day.
Weāre honoured to share some exciting news!
The Oliver Steeper Foundation has been nominated and selected as a finalist for āFundraiser of the Yearā at the Freedom Ashford Hero Awards to be held on the 9th January 2026.
This recognition has truly come out of the blue, and we are incredibly thankful to everyone who took the time to nominate us. Your support means more than we can ever express.
At the heart of every award, every milestone, and every life saved stands our little boy, Oliver. It is Oliver who ultimately deserves any recognition we receive. His legacy continues to shine through every device we provide and every childcare setting we support.
Thank you to everyone who continues to help in our mission and helping us keep Oliverās light burning bright.
Out-of-Court Settlement Reached in Case of Oliverās 2021 Death at the Jellybeans Nursery.
After four years of unimaginable pain, perseverance, and emotional endurance, we, Lewis and Zoe Steeper, the parents of our beloved son, Oliver Keith Steeper, confirm that a final out-of-court settlement has now been reached in relation to Oliverās death at Jellybeans Nursery, Ashford, Kent, in September 2021.
The settlement includes an undisclosed six-figure sum and brings to a close what has been a deeply distressing and protracted legal process for myself and Zoe. While no amount of financial compensation can ever equate to the loss of our child, this resolution allows us to draw a line under a painful legal chapter and focus our energies on ensuring that no other family endures the same devastation that we have suffered whilst ensuring Oliverās brother Jake has the best of futures ahead.
From the very beginning, our motivation has never been financial gain but rather accountability, truth, and lasting change within the early years sector. Over these past four years, we have had to relive the trauma of Oliverās final moments time and again, whilst navigating complex legal, regulatory, and emotional challenges. We have fought tirelessly to highlight the systemic failings that led to our sonās death and to drive forward positive reforms in food safety and first aid procedures in childcare settings across the United Kingdom.
āFor four long years, we have lived through an emotional rollercoaster, fighting, grieving, questioning, and striving to make sense of the unimaginable loss of our little boy. The settlement does not mark victory or closure in the traditional sense; rather, it marks the end of a chapter that no parent should ever have to endure.
While the legal process may now be concluded, our mission continues. Through The Oliver Steeper Foundation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting childrenās lives and promoting stronger safety measures across all childcare environments. Oliverās legacy lives on in every LifeVac device placed into nurseries, preschools, and childminding settings, each one representing a life that might one day be saved because of him. In this way, Oliverās passing will never be in vain. If you are able to make a contribution to Oliverās legacy, please visit https://t.co/ojxxPFdY5t .ā
The Foundation
The Oliver Steeper Foundation has distributed more than 1,500 LifeVac anti-choking devices to nurseries, preschools, and childminders throughout the UK. Although we are a small charity, we have a significant impact on children's safety in choking emergencies, as well as on the safety of the staff members present.
We have minimal outgoings and pride ourselves on the fact that no wages are paid, no expenses are paid which means more devices for childcare settings.
Our legal team:
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our legal representatives, Leigh Day Solicitors, who have stood beside us since the earliest days following Oliverās death. Their compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment have been a source of strength and reassurance throughout this incredibly difficult journey. They have not only represented us as legal advocates but have also supported us as human beings, always at the other end of the phone when we needed guidance or simply someone to listen. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them as we move forward in our ongoing work to ensure child safety reforms are fully realised.
As this legal chapter closes, we remain determined to transform grief into purpose to ensure that Oliverās story leads to lasting change, greater awareness around food preparation, first aid in a choking emergency, and the protection and safety of children for generations to come.

@unknown_patriot I have never met or known of Jeff before and this has just popped up on my timeline, so sending lots of Love, strength and condolences to his family.
At this very moment, exactly four years ago today, our precious baby boy Oliver took his final breath. In the arms of his loving parents, Lewis and Zoe, his beautiful life was cut tragically short. In the space of just one unimaginable week, our whole world collapsed. We sent our healthy, happy, thriving nine month old baby to nursery, trusting he would be cared for and kept safe. Instead, Oliver suffered a choking episode on food wholly inappropriate for his tender age, given in a dangerous and overwhelming quantity.
The pain of that day has never left us. It is etched into our hearts and minds forever. What breaks us most is knowing that the first aid given to Oliver was desperately inadequate. We hold a firm and unshakable belief that, had those entrusted with his care acted as they should, Oliver would still be here with us today. Perhaps his life would have been changed forever, but we would have taken that, anything, over having to say goodbye to our son.
For the past four long years we have fought, and we continue to fight, for change. We have campaigned tirelessly to protect other children and families from the nightmare we live every single day. Thanks to the coroner at Oliverās inquest, who issued a Prevention of Future Deaths notice, the government has been forced to finally confront the urgent need for reform in food safety and first aid in early years childcare across the UK. But change has been painfully slow, and without any acknowledgement from the Government for the little boy who's death made this changes forefront of childcare settings in the UK. Our hearts ache knowing it has taken the loss of our beautiful Oliver to even begin this process.
We miss Oliver every second of every day. His absence is a wound that will never heal. We still grieve with an intensity words can barely capture, and we forever wish things could have been different, that he could have grown, laughed, and lived the life he so deserved. Instead, we were left with only memories, because those we trusted failed him so utterly.
Yet from this unbearable loss, Oliverās light has not gone out. Through the love and kindness of so many of you, his memory lives on in the work of our charity. Together, we have placed free LifeVac anti-choking devices in childcare settings across the United Kingdom. This legacy, Oliverās legacy, is saving lives. For that, we thank every single person who has stood beside us, supported us, and believed in this mission.
If you can support Oliver's legacy with a small contribution please do so here: https://t.co/75QciMwO0b
We will not stop. Not until every single nursery, preschool and childminder in the UK has a LifeVac device and no family has to endure what we endure every day. Oliverās memory guides us, strengthens us, and reminds us of why we must keep going.
Forever loved. Forever missed.Ā ForeverĀ Oliver.
