🔥 Powerful words from @UN Secretary General @antonioguterres at #LCAW2026. As unprecedented heatwaves 🥵 hit London and communities across Europe, the need to accelerate #ClimateAction has never been more apparent.
💰 While rich country governments claim there’s no money to deliver on climate finance, fossil fuel corporations and their wealthy backers are seeing their profits sky-rocket.
🍃The solution is clear to see. It is time to #MakeRichPollutersPay!

G7 LEADERS 'TAKE OUT THE TRASH'
Ahead of the G7 summit in France, activists from Oxfam staged a colourful protest featuring oversized caricatures of world leaders standing beside mock rubbish bins labelled "human rights," "gender equality" and "climate."
The demonstration targeted leaders including Donald Trump, Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer and Sanae Takaichi before they gather in Evian-les-Bains for this year's G7 summit.
Oxfam said the stunt was aimed at highlighting what it sees as the group's failure to adequately address major global challenges.

📢BREAKING: TotalEnergies makes major profits - as leaders meet in Colombia to chart a path away from oil, gas and coal.
📌Another reminder: the biggest polluters are still profiting from the crisis they fuel.
⏰Time to change that and #MakeRichPollutersPay
As BP reports soaring profits today off rising oil prices and global instability, over 50 countries gather in Colombia to shape a #FossilFreeFuture.
So Oxfam and allies brought the message to the source: enough profiteering!
You fuel the crisis, you fund the solutions!
It's time to tax big oil and #MakeRichPollutersPay!
The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.
Our dependence on oil, gas and coal creates a cycle of crisis that keeps repeating. It drives instability, deepens inequality, and puts vulnerable communities at risk.
This #FossilFoolsDay, we stand in solidarity with people affected by conflict and crisis.

Came back here just to say @CAF_Online you are a totally ridiculous lot; no leadership, no credibility and an embarrassment to #AfricanFootball! #NewLow
Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
#ExtremeWeather is hitting harder and more often. Heavier rains, stronger #floods, bigger loss and damage.
In #Mozambique, the worst flooding in a generation has taken homes, livelihoods, and essentials from hundreds of thousands of people.
The people hit hardest did little to cause the climate crisis. The impacts are deeply unequal.

Taxing excess profits, both in the fossil fuel industry and the overall corporate sector, can restructure the economy towards renewables, reduce inequality and raise over $1 trillion in the first year. Oxfam’s new briefing paper shows how: https://t.co/fLPyTeTYZS
Today, the richest 1% have already blown through their entire carbon budget for 2026.
Ten days of pollution. A year of damage.
#PollutocratDay exposes how extreme wealth is incompatible with a safe planet.
Making rich polluters pay is essential to climate justice.

#COP30 may be over, but the fight for climate justice isn’t.
The world is now off track to limit warming to 1.5 degrees celsius and rich countries still refuse to deliver the climate finance they owe.
The fight doesn’t stop here. Let’s keep up the pressure!

As #COP30 goes on we call for system change not climate change ,Together we say polluters must Pay! We demand climate Justice and call for a just energy transition free from fossil fuels.
#MakePollutersPay
Over 1 Million people around the world are calling governments to make rich polluters pay.
Today, at #COP30 in Belem, our global petition was officially handed over to Brazil’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, @MarinaSilva by @OxfamBrasil Executive Director, @visantiago and Make Rich Polluters Pay Activists; @HildaNakabuye , @pavelmartiarena , Erica Monteiro and Grace Malie.
A fairer, more sustainable future is possible but only if the biggest polluters, who’ve fueled this crisis while growing richer, finally pay for the damage they’ve caused and support the communities on the frontlines to survive, rebuild, and thrive
#MakeRichPollutersPay
"According to Oxfam, an individual belonging to the richest 0.1% of the planet emits more carbon in a single day than the poorest 50% of the world's population over an entire year. A minimum tax on multinational corporations and taxing the wealth of the super-rich can generate valuable resources for climate action." Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil
#COP30 #MakeRichPollutersPay
A person from the richest 0.1% of Earth’s population produces more carbon pollution in a day than someone in the poorest 50% produces all year.
The obscenely rich are actively investing in and profiting from the most polluting corporations. On average a billionaire produces 1.9 million tonnes of CO2e a year through their investments.
