Some people inside ESPN are reportedly hoping that Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers do not reach Super Bowl 61, because a Steelers appearance could create challenges involving interviews and behind-the-scenes access because of Rodgers’ relationship with the network:
2 nights ago, the ESPN Monday Night Football broadcast frequently cut away from the game to show us Steve Gleason - a former NFL player who has had his entire livelihood destroyed by ALS, an incurable disease that was most likely caused by playing professional football. at 49 years old, hes completely paralyzed, wheelchair-bound, he relies on a ventilator to breathe, & he can no longer speak. what him and his family have gone through is indescribable.
ESPN went out of their way to show their audience the absolutely tragic (but very real) potential long-term consequences of playing in the NFL.
2 days later, their highest paid employee mocked a future first ballot hall of famer, with a documented history of mental health issues, for deciding to walk away from the game that put Steve Gleason in his wheelchair.
you don't hate these people enough. fuck stephen a smith & fuck espn.
This past calendar year
The NFL has had two players take their own life
And their highest paid man went on TV to mock an all time great and then backpedal saying “he wasn’t poking fun at it”
What are we even doin here man?
THROWBACK: #Bengals legend Chad Johnson once tried to BRIBE an #NFL official with a ONE-DOLLAR BILL during a replay review.
The league ended up fining Ochocinco $20,000 for the stunt.
One of the funniest moments ever.
🤣🤣🤣
