President Cyril Ramaphosa has issued suspension letters against Judges Tshifhiwa Maumela and Nomonde Mngqibisa-Thusi.
This is according to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The suspensions of the two judges follows the April recommendations made by the JSC to suspend the presiding officers pending the outcome of respective tribunal investigations into delays in their judgements.
Initially, delayed judgement complaints against the two judges were first filed by Judge President Dunstan Mlambo in the year 2020.
Judge Maumela and Judge Mngqibisa-Thusi are in hot water for taking over 6-26 months respectively to return judgments that should only take 3 months to returned in accordance with the Norms and Standards of Judicial Officers.
